The second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero just came out. The first season of this anime aired in 2019 and was a huge success. The second one really took some time, lol!

Now, there are two categories of people who watch anime. Those who can wait a whole week to watch the new episode and those who like to wait till the whole season ends. This blog is for people of the second category, as they would like to watch some other anime during this time.

I think there is no need to explain the plot of this anime, right? But, I will still explain it. lmaooo!

The Rising of the Shield Hero follows the story of a shut-in NEET named Naofumi Iwatani. Naofumi was summoned by the kingdom of Melromarc as he was reading a book. He was summoned as the Shield Hero.

There are basically four heroes, namely: the Spear, Bow, Sword, and The Shield.

All of them are respected. However, the shield hero is despised in the kingdom of Melromarc for unknown reasons. The story continues as we see Naofumi’s journey as he tries to regain his name and fight off the Waves.

Well! Waves are the reason he was summoned. Different monsters come out of these waves and destroy everything.

Getting back to the topic. We will now look at anime like “The Rising of the Shield Hero.”

This anime follows the story of a guy named Orphen. Orphen has a huge goal. He is looking for a sword named The Sword of Baltanders. He has another goal as well. He wants to free a dragon named Azelie from imprisonment, along with his friends Magic and Cleao. Can he achieve his goal? I think he can. What do you guys think?

The concept of this anime is kinda unique in my opinion. I haven’t watched it completely, but I’d definitely love to finish it one day.

The first anime on this list is Chaika: The Coffin Princess. Well! The plot of this anime isn’t that interesting. However, the characters are really likable. The main similarity between the two anime is the factor of mystery.

This anime follows the story of a girl named Chaika. Chaika is not your ordinary teenager. In fact, she is a sorcerer, and she carries a coffin with her.. But, the main thing here is that she has no memories of her past. The only memory she has is that she has to find some things related to an emperor known as Gaz. Pretty weird, right?

Chaika finds some really good comrades on her journey who agree to help her with her goal. Can she achieve this goal? And what is the mystery behind Chaika’s memories and the coffin?

The story continues as Miaka is made the Priestess of Suzuka and she is supposed to save the world. The story is full of betrayals and mysteries. I’m sure you’ll love it.

However, on her 16th birthday, it was discovered that she also cannot use mana, lol!! She was banished from the kingdom and was forced to fight monsters in machines known as “Paramails”. Horrible, right?

Another amazing anime on this list. This anime follows the story of a guy named Seth. Seth is a sorcerer who fights mysterious beings. Well! I should tell you about the world in which Seth lives.

In this world, mysterious monsters appear from the sky. Well! This concept is quite similar to the concept of waves in The Rising of the Shield Hero. These monsters vaporize everything. Only sorcerers can fight them. Seth sets off on a journey to fight these monsters along with his friends. Can he save the world? He also faces religious discrimination just like Naofumi.

This anime follows the story of a guy named Haruto Amakawa. Haruto dies in a car accident. And like other isekai heroes, he gets reincarnated into the body of a teenager named Rio.

In this new world, he possesses magical powers. One interesting thing about our MC is that his mother was killed by murderers and he wants revenge for that. The desire for revenge hasn’t subdued in this new world.

One day, he saves a princess of the Bertram Kingdom. The King offers him a place at the prestigious Bertram Royal Academy. This marks the beginning of Rio’s journey, as he starts to understand this new world. The only similarity is the factor of revenge and justice in both the MCs.

He tried to ignore them, but the very next moment, he was falling from the sky. And his surroundings started to change. There were monsters around him. After some time, he discovers that this was the doing of Shindou and the other guy.

In order to leave, he had to complete a task within 14 days. Can he do it?

I guess you are interested in knowing what happens, right?

This anime follows the story of a hero named Licht Bach. Licht is also known as the Legendary Ace. Well! I should tell you about the world-building of this anime. The MC of this anime lives in a world known as Alcia. In this world, each inhabitant is given a number based on their life. If the number falls to zero, the person basically dies. Cruel, right?

The female protagonist of this show is named Hina. Hina’s mother died as her number reached zero. Her mother’s last words were to look for the legendary hero. Can Hina find Licht in this cruel world?

This anime follows the story of a teenager named Tooru Kononoe. Even though Tooru is a kid, the trauma he has faced is quite big. He lost his brother and best friend in an accident. Well! It wasn’t really an accident. Someone intentionally killed them. Now, he wants revenge. Tooru enrolls in an academy to become strong. Can he take his revenge?

I’m sure he can. The MCs usually succeed in getting their revenge. The animation of this anime is kinda old school. But, I’m sure you’ll love it.

He was also told that he could never go back. So, Shinku decides to work really hard in this world. The people of biscotti also helped him find a way to get back to his home. Can they find a way back?

This anime follows the story of a group of strangers who got teleported into a fantasy world. But, this world is not like other isekai fantasy worlds. It is full of dreadful monsters and wars. And there is only one job in this world, and that is to become a soldier to protect the world.

These artifacts were distributed around the Earth as a result of Dark Brings’ calamity. Now, Haru has to find these artifacts so that he can destroy the dark brings. Can he do it? I’m sure he can. The main similarity between this anime and the Shield Hero is the presence of calamity and a secret

After getting selected, his only goal in life is to get stronger.

It follows the story of a guy named Kazuya Souma. He is not a gamer, and definitely not a shut-In NEET. He was living his life peacefully. However, one day, he got teleported to a fantasy world. He was supposed to be the hero. But, he did not have any powers.

The kingdom he was teleported in was devastated. The economy was crushed, they had no resources. So, Kazuya decided to help them by rebuilding the country by other means. He finds some really good comrades on the way. And guess what? He also got engaged to the princess of this kingdom. The kingdom rebuilding concept in this anime and the Shield Hero is quite similar.

Another fantastic anime on this list. This anime is one of my favorites. I really enjoyed watching it and I’m sure you will too.

This anime follows the story of a teenager named Bell Cranel. Bell lives in a world named Orario. This world is full of adventurers who try to clear dungeons and find treasures. Our MC is also an adventurer. However, he doesn’t want any treasures. He is looking for a certain girl. Kinda weird though! The adventurers are a part of families made by gods and goddesses. The name of Bell’s family is Hestia Family.

The comedy in this show is pretty decent as well. The main similarity between this show and The Rising of the Shield Hero is that point of zero to hero. Both the MCs were weak in the beginning. However, they got stronger with time.

This continues as Satou sees a bunch of Lizardmen rushing toward him. He did not know what to do, so he pushed a random button and it summoned a meteor shower. This killed the lizardmen, and he leveled up a lot.

This is just the beginning of his bizarre journey. You’ll get to see some amazing things.

It follows the story of a guy named Ryuuguuin Seiya. The backstory of Seiya is not revealed in the anime. But, we know that he was summoned by a goddess named Ristarte in the fantasy world of Gaeabrande in order to defeat the demon lord. She thought that he was super cool and strong.

However, she did not know that he was super cautious as well. It would be really hard just to defeat minor monsters, lol! He would train for days in the god realm. Can you believe it?

It follows the story of a girl named Chise Hatori. Chise has a dark past. She was abandoned by her parents. Now, she was on the verge of being sold. She was sold to a mysterious man. This mysterious guy is named Elias Ainsworth. He is a Magus.

Chise might seem like a normal teenager. However, she is supposed to be the Bride of this ancient magus. This changes everything, right? This marks the beginning of Chise’s story as she tries to understand Elias and everything that’s going around. In many ways, Chise is quite similar to our Raphthalia. She was also saved from a slavery and wants to be useful to her savior.

It follows the story of a guy named Makoto. Makoto was supposed to be the hero who would save the world. However, the goddess who was in charge did not like him. She hated him, even to the point that she took away his hero title and threw him away like trash.

And she gave him the ability to understand all languages except the human language. Horrible, right? Well! Makoto decided not to give up. He developed good relations with demi-humans and other monsters. He wants to create a society where they can co-exist. Can he do it? And why does the goddess hate him so much? The answer lies in the anime, of course.

22. Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk

I’ll tell you about the world building of this anime. The plot of this anime revolves around a tower known as the Tower of Druaga. Demons reside in this tower. However, there is a time period known as the Summer of Anu. During this period, the demons of this tower become weak.

Now, the country of Uruk has decided to seize this opportunity to defeat Druaga, the most powerful demon. Can they achieve this feat?

The main similarity between this anime and Shield Hero is the presence of a certain tower/gate from which demons emerge. The persona of the main character is also quite similar to Naofumi.

After some time, he finds out that his family is in danger. Now, he can get revenge. Ohh! I forgot to mention that Kazuma trained really hard and learned Wind Magic. Can he save his family?

He also demanded money from his family to save them, lol!! He really is a savage. Well! They deserve that.

This anime follows the story of a demon named Meliodas. Well! The story begins as we see a princess named Elizabeth. She is looking for the infamous Seven Deadly Sins. And guess what? She is lucky enough to find their captain, Meliodas. This marks the beginning of their together as they look for other members of seven deadly sins.

The major similarity between the two anime is the MC. Both of them are marked as traitors and evil by their country. Both of them love their comrades and can do anything for their safety and protection. Besides season 3, the animation of this anime is pretty decent. The anime has also ended, so you can just binge it.

However, as humanity progressed in the field of technology, they started to disobey her. So, she decided to leave the village.

Thankfully, a merchant named Lawrence was passing by the village. She asked him to help her. Lawrence agreed. This marks the beginning of their journey as they travel across mountains and different villages. The main similarity between the two anime is the relationship between a human and a demi-human. Also, Raphthalia and Holo look pretty much alike, lol!

This anime follows the story of a teenager named Ganta Igarashi. Ganta is your ordinary teenager. However, his life was turned upside down as his entire class was murdered by a mysterious man.

He was framed for this murder and sent to jail. This jail is not ordinary. It is full of deadly convicts with some strange powers. The most important thing here is that the Jail hosts some games for the convicts. If you win at those games, the deadly neck collar you are wearing will be loosened. Horrible, right?

Can an ordinary high schooler survive at such a place? I seriously doubt that. The main similarity here is that both the MCs were framed for something they did not do and they had to prove themselves innocent.

16. So I’m a Spider, So What?

This anime is something else. The concept of non-human protagonists is quickly gaining popularity. These days, you can see a lot of anime with non-human MCs, like That Time I Got Reincarnated as Slime and many more.

This anime follows the story of a teenager named Kumoko. Kumoko is your ordinary high school student. Everything was quite peaceful as she went to school. However, this peace was not long lasting as a mysterious event led to the demise of Kumoko’s entire class. And guess what? All of them were reincarnated into a fantasy world. NANIIIII?!!

Kumoko was also reincarnated, and that too, in the form of a spider, lol! What can she do in this form? The animation of this anime is also pretty smooth, and the characters are also quite lovable. You will definitely enjoy watching it.

15. Goblin Slayer

Hmmmm! Some peeps might not like this anime because it contains a lot of blood and killing. However, if you have no problem with that, then it is a pretty good watch.

This anime follows the story of a guy whose only purpose in life is to kill goblins. Why? Well! He had a traumatic experience with goblins in the past. Now, his only goal in life is to exterminate goblins. He even forms a party just to do that. Can he exterminate each and every goblin in existence? I’m sure he can.

The suspense this anime creates is quite similar to the Rising of the Shield Hero. If you enjoyed shield hero, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as well.

However, Miyuki got enrolled in course 1 and Tatsuya was able to make it to course 2.

Course 2 students are discriminated against as they are considered weak.

But, little did he know that his life would be turned upside down. As soon as he reached the city, he got involved with an assassin group named Night Raid. This group fights against the corrupt government.

I suggest you don’t get attached to a certain character in this anime. Why? You’ll get it when you watch the anime. P.S: CHELSEAAAAA!!!!

This anime follows the story of a guy named Adlet. Adlet calls himself the strongest human on Earth. He has a huge dream. He wants to become one of the 6 heroes who will save humanity by defeating the Evil God. And guess what? He got selected. But, there are some mysteries.

There are supposed to be 6 heroes. But, there are 7 of them. How is that even possible? It just means that one of them is a traitor.

The concept of both anime is kinda similar. Both Adlet and Naofumi were framed for something they did not do. After getting framed, they had a complete personality shift. I’m sure you’ll love this anime.

11. Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt So I’ll Max Out My Defense

Do you know what this means? She’ll attract more enemies. This isn’t the ending. She has to learn a lot more things. She makes some new friends and continues her journey. This anime is a must watch if you want a change of things. It is really wholesome and light-hearted.

10. The Legend of the Legendary Heroes

Can he achieve his goal? Well! He has to be really careful because of his ability. I won’t tell you the details of his ability. That would, kinda, spoil everything. Sooo, you gotta watch the anime if you’re curious, mate. The animation of this anime is kinda old. But, I believe that if you liked Shield Hero, then you’ll love this one as well.

9. Mushoku Tensei

Mushoku Tensei is one of the most recent anime on this list. The manga of this anime is also known as the “Father of all Isekai ”. I mean, it is that great.

It follows the story of a guy named Rudeas Greyrat. Well! His real life isn’t this. He used to be fat shut-In NEET. However, his demise led to his reincarnation into another world.

This anime is basically a slice of life. So, we get to see Rudeas’ everyday life. He was considered a magic genius as he grew up. Every Isekai MC has a traumatic past, right? Rudeas also has one. He was bullied to the point that he just did not want to go outside. Can he recover from this trauma in his new life? I doubt that. These traumas are not easy to overcome. What do you say?

The world building in this anime is just amazing. And it also has one of the best antagonists of all time, Askeladd. You can not hate this man. The main similarity here is the factor of revenge.

Ahhh! This anime was bound to make this list. This anime reminds me more of Sword Art Online. However, there are a lot of similarities between this one and the rising of the shield hero.

In both anime, the blend of drama and comedy is just perfect.

This anime follows the story of a guy named Shiroe. Shiroe is an ordinary college student. However, he started playing a game called “Log Horizon.” It was an MMORPG. It attracted a lot of students. The developer of the game had some other ideas in mind. He trapped all of the players inside the game for an experiment. That’s kinda horrible, right?

Shiroe decided to take this chance and help everyone. He made a country for the weak players who couldn’t survive alone. This helped a lot of people. If you enjoyed the Rising of the Shield Hero, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one as well.

Ahhhh! If we’re talking about the Isekai genre, then this anime is a just watch. It really is one of the best isekai out there.

It follows the story of two siblings named Shiro and Sora. Both of them are shut-in NEETS and play games all day long. However, they are not your ordinary gamers. They are the BEST.

One day, they received a letter challenging them to a game. If they win that game, they’ll be teleported to a fantasy world. Both of them accepted the challenge and won the game quite easily. Now, they were a part of a fantasy world. Everything in this world is decided by games. NANIII?! This is the perfect world for them, right?

However, there is more to this anime. I can’t just spoil everything, lol!

It follows the story of a guy named Momonga. He used to play a game named Yggdrasil. This game was really popular. But, this was the last time he could play this game as it was going to shut down. So, he decided to wait till all the servers shut down.

However, much to his surprise, he wasn’t logged out even after the time limit. How? And another amazing thing that happened is that all of the non-playable characters got their own personalities. Amazing, right?

Now, what should he do? He can’t log out on his own. So, he decided to conquer the world and find strong opponents to fight. Ohhh! I forgot to mention that he was known as the strongest mage. Huihuihuihui!

This next one is my brother’s favorite anime. He just loves it idk why, lol!

This anime follows the story of a guy named Satoru Mikami. Mikami used to work at an office. However, he was tired of his life. One day, as he was going home, a thief stabbed him, and he died. But, this is the world of anime. He got reincarnated into a world of fantasy as a slime. What? A Slime? Aren’t slimes the weakest? Well! He wasn’t weak. He absorbed a crazy amount of monsters and became strong.

Now, I won’t spoil everything for y’all. Go and watch the anime yourself, losers. Buhahahahahah!

This anime follows the story of a guy named Kazuma. Kazuma is your ordinary shut-in NEET. He has no interest in life. However, one day, he decided to get some fresh air. As he was walking, he tried to save a girl from an accident and died.

Well! He did not die from the impact. In fact, he died from the shock. Lmaooo! But, this is an anime. He was given the opportunity to reincarnate into another world. And he can take any weapon with him. He decided to take the Goddess along with him. Lol!!!

The comedy in this anime is something else. You should definitely give it a try if you haven’t.

The story continues as Kirito decides to play a new MMORPG game named Sword Art Online. This game was really hyped and every other kid was buying it. They thought it would be an ordinary game. But, the developer of this had other ideas.

He trapped everyone inside the game. And if you die in the game, you’d die in the real world too. Damnnn!! This is insane. The only way to escape was to win this game. Can Kirito and others do it?

This anime follows the story of a teenager named Natsuki Subaru. Natsuki was suddenly teleported to another world, like Naofumi. But, he isn’t supposed to be a hero. He is just an ordinary guy.

However, this is an anime. The MC is sure to have some amazing power, right? In this case, the MC has the power to revive. Like, he gets revived after dying to a certain point back in time. Amazing, right? I won’t spoil the story for y’all.

The main similarity between this anime and the Shield Hero is that in both anime, the MC has to suffer a lot. They have to face a lot of difficulties to achieve something.
