Hey guys, so you completed your previous anime and now you wanna start Black Clover? Don’t worry, you are in the right place. Today, we are going to talk about Black Clover fillers and their arcs but first, let me tell you its good points as well as its bad points.

Good Points – the arcs and character development are amazing. Their plot is easy to understand (like Fairy tail) with an amazing plot twist.

Bad Points – there are not many bad points, but one thing I wanna point out is their animation in fights is great, but outside the fights, it feels like low-budget quality animation.

How Many Fillers Are There in Black Clover?

Black Clover has a total of 170 amazing episodes with 17 main fillers and 5 mixed canon fillers. If you’re wondering why there’s so much, don’t worry they are not boring. In fact, they are quite entertaining. If you really wanna skip fillers, you can, it’s really up to you. But if you wanna know my opinion, I will not recommend you skip those fillers. I mean, they are fun.

 

Fillers

 

Episode 2

This episode is about Asta’s and Yuno’s childhood and how their rivalry started. It’s a filler but I will not recommend you skip this one.

 

Episode 8

Asta is still adapting as a Magic Knight and doesn’t get any proper missions. When Yami and Magna go on a so-called mission (gambling), Asta asks if he could join them.

 

Episode 9 

Asta is on a mission to capture a wild boar with Noelle. 

 

Episode 66

This is the recap episode of the Witch Forest arc. 

 

Episode 68-69

This filler is fun. This episode (68) is focused on Yami and Jack the Ripper’s rivalry. Episode 69 is about Charlotte and Vanessa; they are indirectly competing for our favorite Capitan Yami’s attention.

 

Episode 82

In this episode, Charmy goes to the forest to find some food (just Charmy things). She then accidentally eats some Hallucinogenic Mushrooms.

 

Episode 102

Asta and Yuno come to their home village to defend their family against reincarnated elves in human bodies. This episode is mostly a recap. 

 

Episode 123-125

Secre Swallowtail or most commonly known as Nero, remembers the events of five centuries ago.

 

Episode 131

This episode is wholesome. Asta and his friends return to the village. Everyone is grateful and happy after seeing Asta and Yuno. Father Orfai built a school, and asked them to teach the kids their experience as Magic Knights.  

 

Episode 134-135

Mareoleona invites everyone to celebrate Sister Theresa’s 15 years as a nun. Fueloleon and Mareoleona got in some kind of argument and started fighting. Sister Theresa then stopped and scolded them. She also tells how they used to behave when they were kids.

 

Episode 142-148

There are a total of seven fillers back-to-back with not much importance to them. If you don’t have time for some reason, you can skip these fillers. 

 

About Black Clover

Black Clover is a shōnen anime with adventure fiction and fantasy elements.  It was written and illustrated by Yuki Tabata. The original manga ran from February 16, 2015 – the present.  A lot of people love Black Clover because of its best shōnen elements. I mean, the protagonist just doesn’t know how to give up, and helps everyone around him like the MCs in Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball, and Fairy tail. 

 

Black Clover Plot

The story mainly focuses on Asta and Yuno. They are orphans who were left in the orphanage when they were born. In the world of Black Clover, everyone possesses Mana  

(It’s like chakra in Naruto). Mana is like the essence of Magic.

Our Asta is the exception who doesn’t possess any Mana, but he has good physical strength. On the other hand, Yuno has great mana with great talent, he can control the wind. They both want to be wizard king because of that, they became rivals. 

Our Yuno gets a four-leaf Grimoire (Grimoire is a magic book everyone gets one according to their power and talent). 

Asta gets a Five Leaf Grimoire; it is a very mysterious and rare Grimoire that contains an Anti-Magic Sword. Each of them has to join a Magic Knights squad because of their ambition. Asta joins the Black Bulls and Yuno joins the Golden Dawn, and now their adventure begins.   

 

Black Clover Story Arcs

 

Magic Knights Entrance Arc

(Episode 1-13)

It’s the starting journey of Asta and Yuno where we find out how they obtained their Grimoire, and cleared the Magic Knight Entrance exam (like chunin exam or hunter x hunter exam arc).

In the world of Black Clover, when someone turns 15, they become eligible to receive their Grimoire. Asta and Yuno also turn 15. Both of them with other orphans of the church go to Grimoire tower to attend the Grimoire acceptance ceremony.

After the ceremony, Grimoires from libraries started to glow and fly towards their users, but Asta didn’t get one (sad) and the master of the tower told him to try again next year, everyone at the ceremony started laughing at Asta. 

On the other hand, Yuno got a legendary rare four-leaf Grimoire and everyone was astonished by it.

After the event, Asta saw a former Magic Knight (Revchi Salik) and his intention was to ambush Yuno and sell Yuno’s Grimoire on the black market. Asta jumps in and asks Revchi to give back Yuno’s Grimoire. Revchi simply declines and calls Asta a loser. Asta almost gave up on his dream, but Yuno calls Asta his rival. It brought his confidence back as he felt challenged, then suddenly Asta’s Five leaf Grimoire appeared and then boom! We all know what happens next.

After six months, Yuno and Asta left their village for the Magic Knight Entrance exam. Yuno Got selected in the Golden Dawn and Asta got selected in Black Bulls.

There are a total of 13 episodes with fillers (Episode 2, Episode 8, and Episode 9). If you wanna skip fillers, you can skip episodes 8 and 9. 

 

Dungeon Exploration Arc

(Episode 14-19)

In that arc, Asta, Noelle, and Luck are sent on their first mission to investigate a Magic Dungeon, and we are also going to see Luck’s origin story.  This arc is not all about Asta and his team, it also has Yuno and his friends (Klaus and Mimosa) 

This Arc Villain is about Mars. He is from the Diamond Kingdom. 

This arc doesn’t have any fillers. Cool, right?

 

Royal Capital Assault Arc

(Episode 20-27)

After the Dungeon mission, Asta and his friends were invited by Julius to attend the War Merits Conferment Ceremony (the ceremony is for Magic Knights who were promoted) but not all Magic Knights were happy with Asta’s presence. At the end of the ceremony, Julius highlighted their Dungeon mission and honored them. 

In the middle of the event, Rades Spirito attacks the Clover Kingdom with his Wraith magic (He can create a zombie army with his spell). He attacked the kingdom because he was banished from the Magic Knight squad for using dangerous magic.

At the end of the arc, Fuegoleon was barely alive, he lost his right arm and went into a coma, they also lost the magic stone—all because the Eye of the Midnight Sun joined the fight.  

Same as the previous arc. This arc also doesn’t have fillers.

 

Eye of the Midnight Sun Encounter Arc

(Episode 28-39)

This arc is great. I mean we are going to see Midnight Sun, and man I’m going to tell you this organization is no joke, and we are all also going to see a fight between our Magic Knight Captains and them.   

This arc starts with Finral Roulacase. He sets up a blind date and invites Asta and Luck.

They meet three beautiful women at a restaurant and introduce themselves (their first is not that great). In the end, Finral and luck were rejected by their dates, but our Asta found something common with Rebecca (they were having a conversation about their siblings. Weird, but it works for Asta). 

After some moments, Asta goes to Rebecca’s house (smooth), and they find out Rebecca’s siblings are missing with other town’s children.   

Boro was behind the kidnapping of children for his experiment. He was defeated by Asta and Gauche, and they rescued the children.  

After the rescue, the Midnight Sun (Litch) introduces himself, and we see a great fight between our badass Captains and Litch (this is one of the greatest fights in Black Clover).

It is the most interesting arc, with ten episodes and two fillers. You can skip both fillers if you want. 

 

Seabed Temple Arc

(Episode 40-50)

Do you like water? If yes, then you’re going to love this arc. The Black Bulls were assigned a mission by Julius to retrieve a magic stone from under the water when they reached the underwater temple.

Their priest demanded a battle royale game between the Black Bulls and their warriors, but the eye of the Midnight Sun interrupted the whole game. 

 

Witches’ Forest Arc

(Episode 51-65)

Do you like Vanessa? Why am I even asking this, I mean everyone loves Vanessa.

After the fight with the member of the Midnight Sun (Vetto), Asta’s arm was cursed and doctors were unable to cure him. 

So the Black Bulls take this situation into their own hands and go on a journey to find a cure for Asta. Vanessa knows a healer who can cure him (Witch Queen). But she is not easy to convince.

We are also going to see Vanessa’s life before she became a Magic Knight, and how Yami recruits her to the Black Bulls. There is also some action in this arc (Black Bulls Vs Diamond Kingdom and Midnight Sun).  

Fillers?  No, this arc also doesn’t have any fillers. 

 

Royal Knights Arc

(Episodes 66-93)

This arc is my favorite. Why? Because I’m crazy when it comes to tournaments and their fights (Rill vs Yuno is one of my favorite fights). In the Clover Kingdom, every Magic Knight is preparing for the Elite squad test (they need the best mages to fight against the Midnight Sun).

This arc has a total of 27 episodes with four fillers (Episodes—66, 68,69, and 82). If you want to, you can skip episodes 82 and 66.

 

Elf Reincarnation Arc

(Episodes 94-157)

Guys guys, if you’ve come this far that means Black Clover didn’t disappoint you. In this arc, you are going to love the twists and what story was building up like the devil, Nero, and the origin of the first wizard king.

The Midnight Sun obtains the Magic stones and attacks the Clover Kingdom. Half of the Magic Knights turned into elves and some more elves are reincarnated in human bodies all over the Clover Kingdom, the rest of the members of a Magic Knight tried stopping them.

This arc has a total of 64 episodes with twelve fillers and one mixed canon filler. Yes, there are a lot. If you want to know which filler to skip, you can skip these fillers (142-148), (102). Skip without worries, they are boring anyway. 

 

Heart Kingdom Joint Struggle Arc

(Episodes 158-167)

After the whole elves’ situation. Asta and Nero were blamed for the destruction caused, but Yami and the Black Bulls covered for them. Julius assigned Yami and the Black Bulls to investigate the devil and find allies for upcoming threats and battle, so they visited the Heart Kingdom and met queen Lolopechka and her spirit. (I’m not a simp, but they both are insanely cute) 

Asta and others continued their training in the Heart Kingdom. Also, this arc has no fillers, so enjoy.  

 

Spade Kingdom Raid Arc

Episode 168- on going

This arc is ongoing, and only three episodes have aired. 

Vangeance and Yami are kidnapped by siblings of the Devil. The Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom and the Heart Kingdom have been training to form a special assault force, so they can rescue the Captains and stop the formation of the Tree of Qliphoth.

In this arc, you are going to be amazed. I mean we are going to see Asta’s true potential—oh sorry not only Asta, EVERYONE! Yes, everyone! You name it; Yuno, Luck, Noelle, Mimosa. Also, mind-blowing revelations like the Black Bulls have a spy in the Spade Kingdom, the backstory of the devil in Asta’s Grimoire, and some information about Asta’s biological mother.    

 

Conclusion
