While he was training to become a chef, he had faced many losses but he didn’t lose hope. He came up with much determination and tasteful dishes. Seeing this passion, his father sent him to a culinary school. Souma being the arrogant kid, thought that it was going to be some generic culinary school but little did he know that he was going to face such hardships and challenges. Yes! That’s right, the test of entering that school was very tough and it wasn’t surely something teenagers could get. However, seeing those challenges ahead of him, our boy was fired up! For the new director, creativity in cooking is useless. While our boy Souma thinks oppositely. He thinks that creativity and experimentation bring out the true essence in cooking. Not only Souma, but the entire elite team from Polar Star think the same way!
For the sake of change and to bring out quality dishes, Souma and others team up against the new director, but we all know their journey isn’t going to be easy at all. It’s going to take time and a lot of hard work to prove their worth and their statement too! Azami doesn’t take this threat lightly. Souma has to plan to prove his creativity in cooking. Food Wars! The Third Plate OVA – Erina’s New Life (2018)
Being angry about the opposition of students against the director, many students were expelled and sent home. But Erina suffered enough, she was locked and was only allowed to eat the foods Azami deemed worthy.
To Erina, it was the biggest torture. Therefore, she decided to escape and started to live with Dorm members. That was the time she was the happiest. There, she was her real self, more like, the girly Erina. She always wanted to look girly.
Food Wars! The Fourth Plate (2018)
This season has only 12 episodes which show the success of Souma after all his journey and especially after eight-on-eight Shokugeki which is also called Regiment de Cuisine. So, in short, they dethroned Azami too! So, that’s good! They got what they always wanted and won’t stop growing too.
Souma also has to defeat the Elite Ten somehow. I mean, he has defeated them before so it shouldn’t be hard to defeat them one more time, right? They did defeat the first half members of the elite ten but the remaining half are much more difficult to defeat. They have to push themselves to their limit to defeat these members. They have to believe in “Friends Jutsu”. If you know, you know!

This competition pressurizes the students and makes them nervous as well. But we all know that this isn’t the time to get nervous. They have to work hard and come up with an excellent dish.
If Souma has to inherit the “Restaurant Yukihira ” from his father, he has to prove his worth and has to win this competition too. But only cooking isn’t enough to prove your worth. Food Wars Characters
Souma Yukihira
Souma Yukihira is the main protagonist in the series. He’s always had one dream which is nothing more than to surpass his father’s culinary skills and to become one of the greatest chefs. He has always dreamt big despite failing several times. He’s the perfect definition of rigidity and determination. He strongly believes in himself which has brought him where he is now. Ever since he was six years old he started helping at his family’s restaurant which is also called “Restaurant Yukihira”.
Souma is definitely an optimistic boy with infinite energy in him. He just can’t get tired no matter what happens. He’s constantly driven, his strong friendship and rivalry with his father is very wholesome. He’s confident in his culinary skills and makes sure to take feedback on his dishes from everyone. Souma is the type of guy who doesn’t get anxious when he’s pressured, he’s a cool individual who’s chill even in the toughest times. I think he would really impress Gordon Ramsay. What do you guys think?
He’s quite creative and innovative too which allows him to solve problems all by himself. He can create very good dishes that will make you lick your fingers. Also, this anime makes us all hungry to the extent of eating after every minute. So that’s something you should keep in mind.
Anyways, Souma can get quite cocky at times since he’s confident in his skills. Therefore, his mentor or his father is there to fix that. He has a natural charm of attracting other people towards him. Not to lie, but just look at him, he looks good, can cook, and literally has everything a woman dreams of. Isn’t that right? Get yourself a man like Souma Yukihira. Indeed, Anime raises standards. What do you girls think about him? Cooking is surely considered a green flag in 2022.
Erina Nakiri
Erina Nakiri is also one of the main characters in the series. She’s introduced as a rival to our MC, Souma. But as the story proceeds, we get to see them get along with one another. Erina Nakiri has the best palate in the world. She has the tongue of a goddess. She stands out from the rest of the characters due to her skills and her looks. She’s from a privileged background which has its own benefits. She’s talented and has good cooking skills, so she’s definitely a hard rival.
Her aggressive behavior is caused by her father’s abusive training. She also fears her father big time. She’s just simply encaged in his palm and has to do what she’s been told. In fact, she’s unable to do anything in a correct way in his presence. So, that’s how huge of an impact her father has on her. Due to her haughty training, she can’t make friends that easily. She has to consider a lot of things before befriending others. She doesn’t really like the idea of romance and highly hates it.
Since she has always dreamt of looking and feeling like a girl, she showed her true self at the Polar Star Dormitory. It’s sad how she was always in the palm of her father and wasn’t able to become her real self. During her stay at the dormitory, she has been the happiest. She has been her real self. She has also gained many skills ever since she got there.
She was born into a rich family and was given everything she wanted. However, sometimes all you need to do is be your own self and have the freedom to do so. That’s something she couldn’t get. It makes me sad to know how she suffered all this time all because of her father. She would have dreamt of a romantic life doing everything kids of her age do. But her father had to simply ruin her teenage years. It’s true that you can’t always have what you want.
Joichiro Yukihira
Joichhiro Yukihira is the father of Souma and the owner of “Restaurant Yukihira”. He’s definitely an amazing cook. He was part of the 69th batch of Totsuki students. He looks too young to be called a dad. He’s also quite laid-back but has a serious personality when it comes to cooking. His cooking is famous all around the world. No wonder, our MC wants to surpass his dad.
He’s very charismatic, especially when he’s cooking. Being the only parent of Souma, he’s doing a good job at raising him. Everyone respects him highly and he also became quite popular among Souma’s friends. It’s always nice to see your dad getting along with your friends, right? He’s carefree and sometimes messes up while cooking too but that’s alright. We all mess up at times, isn’t that right? Anyways, he likes to live freely and is quite a carefree individual.
The only thing Joichiro doesn’t really like is being disrespected or looked down upon. He gets really ruthless in competitions when someone stomps on him. Just like Souma, he likes to push himself to his limits and fight his opponents. It sounds like an action anime. HAHA, anyways he’s a really talented individual. You simply wouldn’t wanna mess with this guy. He’s the Japanese Gordon Ramsay. I’m not even kidding!
He had to travel across the country for some work, therefore, he decided to close his restaurant. Our boy Souma always wanted to inherit the restaurant. Therefore, he decided to become an able chef so that he can protect the family restaurant. He’s proud of his son but he doesn’t really express it much.
