Hello guys! Today we will talk about a character from one of the most popular anime as of the moment, Tokyo Revengers! He is Rindo Haitani, one of the secondary characters of the series. He is most known as one of the Haitani brothers, together with his older brother Ran. Join me in this character wiki where we will discover details and facts about him.
Appearance
Rindo is a muscular guy with blonde hair with light blue locks and violet eyes. He is often seen wearing glasses. His skin is darker than his brother’s. Rindo has a few tattoos scattered across the left part of his body.
When he was part of the Tenjiku gang, he wore the gang’s black version of the uniform, with a skull on the collar, a white belt and gloves. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 54) Now that he is Bonten’s executive, he has changed his appearance. He doesn’t wear glasses anymore and his hair is purple with blue locks, styled into a mullet. On his neck there is the Bonten tattoo. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 208)
Personality
Rindo is a sadistic young man who can be ruthless and merciless when he fights. He loves fighting, especially when he is about to break his opponents’ bones. He is confident in his abilities and very arrogant. He dislikes when others look down on him. When he is not in a battle, he has a stoic expression.
Strengths and Skills
Rindo is quite strong as he is regarded as one of the best fighters in the Tenjiku gang. He is an expert wrestler. When he fights, he aims at hitting his opponents’ joints and bones through grappling moves in order to win. Rindo holds his opponent down, so that his older brother can finish him. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 160) Rindo is extremely dangerous, but he is considered the weaker one of the Haitani brothers.
Facts
- His name means bellflower.
- The two characters that make up his surname mean respectively “ash” and “valley”.
- Some people online are wondering if Rindo and Ran are twins or not, but we don’t have a real answer to this question. As we know, they are both part of the S62 generation, which is composed of members born in 1987, so apparently they should be the same age, but we can’t be sure of that, since we don’t have any confirmation or know their birthdays.
Past
Rindo is Ran’s younger brother. When both of them were 13 years old, the leaders of the largest team in the city, the Roppongi Kyougoku, wanted to fight against them. Ran won easily and helped Rindo with his opponent, who died because of serious injuries. Thanks to this event, the Haitani brothers became the rulers of the Roppongi district. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 160) However, they were punished because of their crimes and entered the juvenile facility. This is where they met the other members of the S62 generation.
Affiliations
Tenjiku Gang
Rindo was an important member of the Tenjiku gang before its disbandment. In fact, he was the second-in-command / Executive of one of the Four Heavenly Kings, i.e his older brother Ran. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 124)
Bonten
Rindo is currently part of the Bonten crime syndicate, together with his brother. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 209) He is involved in all the activities of the organization, such as gambling, murder and fraud. All the members feature a tattoo in various parts of their bodies. Rindo’s one is on the front of his neck.
Rokuhara Tandai
Together with his brother, Rindo is also part of the Rokuhara Tandai, which is a motorcycle gang. He is the third seat. However, after its leader’s death, the gang was affiliated to the Kanto Manji Gang. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 208)
Relationships
Ran Haitani
Ran is Rindo’s older brother. The two have a good relationship and a close bond as they are always seen together. Even if Rindo has an inferiority complex towards his brother, the Haitani brothers have good chemistry and teamwork, even when they fight. Ran and Rindo deeply trust each other. Ran can be considered Rindo’s mentor and he is protective towards him.
Plot
Rindo is a secondary character of the series, so we don’t see him very often.
His first appearance is in chapter 54 (even if they are mentioned early in chapter 51) as well as in episode 18 of the animated adaptation, when, together with his brother, he watches Toman and Valhalla’s fight. Later, we see them in chapter 128, when Tenjikuambushes members of Toman.
The Haitani brothers, then, fight against them together with their gang (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 153-154). The two of them were eventually defeated by Hakkai and Angry in chapter 163. When the fight ends, the brothers get arrested by the police, along with the other members of Tenjiku. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 185)
Later, Tenjiku itself disbanded. The Haitani brothers join the Bonten Organization in an alternate timeline, taking part in its criminal activities. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 209)
Voice Actors
Rindo’s Japanese voice actor is one of the best ones in the industry, Hiro Shimono! I’m sure you have already heard about him. He is famous for famous and important roles such as Zenitsu, Dabi, and Connie from Attack on Titan.
His French voice actor is Maxime Donnay, who is also the voice of Senku in Dr. Stone, Lupin III in the franchise series and Sai in Naruto. Unfortunately, we don’t have details about Rindo’s English voice actor.
Conclusion
As you could have noticed in the article, we can’t talk about Rindo if we don’t associate him with his older brother, Ran. The two of them are a set that can’t be separated, even if both of them show different qualities and aspects. Even if they have grown up together, they are not the same. Quite the opposite!
Anyway, I’m sure we will see more of them in the future, but right now we don’t have many details about Rindo and Ran. All we know is included in this article. Hopefully, we will get to know more in the next chapters of the Tokyo Revengers manga! In the meanwhile, we can enjoy the amazing series together.
