Every new addition to the world of anime is deeply valued by everyone, especially to weebs like us! No one can deny the fact that a new anime series means more than just a form of entertainment; it is also another artwork meant to be shown and appreciated.
If you have been familiar with anime for quite some time, it is a must to have that ‘Fairy Tail Awareness’. With its fantastic storylines and intriguing antagonists, the anime was a big success throughout 2009 to 2019 and was even named “Southeast Asia’s Animation of the Year ” in 2010. Fairy Tail continued to build a devoted fanbase that yearned for the show’s revival with its 328 episodes and 9 OVAs.
In this article, we will be focusing on information about Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest’s release date, and important details that we all should not miss! Keep in mind that these may contain spoilers.
RELEASE DATE
Manga creator Hiro Mashima revealed that a Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest anime was made official on September 11 of last year, during the “Hiro Mashima Fan Meeting.” The anime is finally on the way that is guaranteed to excite fans, who have all waited for three long years. Its date of release has not yet been announced, but based on what can be implied, they might do so by the end of the fall and will likely debut in the latter half of 2022.

Our OG squad are expected to appear in Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest anime adaptation, mainly Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, Wendy, Happy, and Carla along with Touka and the Diabolos. Voice actors for each character are yet to be announced.
PREDICTED PLOT
The anime series Fairy Tail is adapted from the eponymous manga by Hiro Mashima. It was published by Kodansha and made available in 2006, and the same editor later serialized it in his Weekly Shonen publication. 63 volumes of the Fairy Tail manga have been published, each with glowing covers.
The initial story of Fairy tail takes place in a universe where various wizards form groups and carry out tasks to earn money. By happenstance, Lucy, who is eager to enter the Fairy Tail guild, encounters Natsu Dragneel, who is a powerful magician from Fairy Tail and has the ability to spew fire. She eventually succeeds in joining the guild after several incidents, discovers many magicians, and experiences numerous escapades with them.
Just like any other anime with a study path to follow, Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest focuses on the goal of sealing the Five Dragon Gods. Seems pretty simple, right? Although it is not as easy as we think it can be since all dragons are indescribably formidable, any one of them may cause worldwide destruction.
This new series will give a perspective on what happened to the characters after the initial Fairy Tail ending. On the northern continent of Guiltina, Erza, Wendy, Gray, Lucy, Natsu, Carla and Happy have all begun a 100-Years mission – a very challenging quest that leads people to fail in accomplishing it no matter how many years they try to. As scary and complicated as it sounds, Natsu has a firm belief that he and his team can break those limits by means of their reliable Fairy Tail style (our protagonist is a little ambitious).
But wait, there is a catch! An anime is not an anime if the complication is limited to one. There are additional two problems alongside the main mission.
Firstly, Touka, another addition to the community of mages, has entered the Fairy Tail guild with the aim of being closer to Natsu (stay away from our prince!). At first glance, she appears to be the best option to be part of the squad , but it turns out that she is hiding an undesirable secret.
Do you want to know her dirty, little secret? It is no other than The White Mage, which is another personality of Touka residing inside of her. Meaning to say, Touka has the ability to get and erase the magic of others as she is naturally evil (stay away from our squad!).
If we compare the antagonists to the original series, it is safe to say that The White Witch can be considered the “Zeref” of this series, and the 100 Year Quest’s version of Acnologia are the Five Dragon Gods.
The second additional significant complication to be expected from the series is that Natsu and his guild crossed paths with the Diabolos while in the process of trying to bind the Five Dragon Gods. Called as Fifth Generation Dragon Slayers, these people make up the totality of the Guiltina local guild, and consuming dragons or eating up other Dragon Slayers is their way of improving their power! Unsurprisingly, they have acquired a penchant for Dragon God’s meat. (yum).
Our main characters may not absolutely favor eating the Dragon Gods, even though doing so would prevent them from ruining the planet. Even if the Dragon Gods are potentially harmful, not all of them are bad; a few of them are particularly benign. Natsu and his allies would like to finish their duty as prescribed if they can help it, because the objective is to “seal” and not “slay”, unlike how the Diabolos perceive it.
At this rate, the latter needs to know if they listened too much to Taylor Swift and ‘got lost in translation’. In any event, it would be best if they did not obtain the Dragon Gods’ power, because Diabolos will not really have the finest of motives and may do their best to intervene with the Fairy Tail guild’s intentions.
Do not worry, 100 Years Quest is more than a stressful series. There are lots of things to be anticipated, especially for the fans of the anime. We all know how entertaining the original series was (and if you do not know, you better watch it). This new anime series will surely captivate the hearts of aficionados and newbies.
