Jujutsu Kaisen continues to be one of the best series out there. It’s like every day a new fan emerges to rave about how awesome Jujutsu Kaisen is, and we couldn’t agree more! With the first season done, we are left with a gaping hole—until the movie came and then it ended… so the hole returned. Leaving us all empty and seeking to fill that void. Thinking that nothing else could top JJK
But do not fret dear readers! For iwatchitall has prepared 46 anime recommendations that you may want to visit or revisit to keep you preoccupied. I mean, 2023 is a looooOOOOOONG way ahead. So, might as well watch whatever is similar right?
ANIME SIMILAR TO JUJUTSU KAISEN (RECOMMENDATIONS)
46. Terror In Resonance
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 8/20 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 29/50 |
The hauntings in this series are not spiritual in nature, as a terrorist attack shattered Japan in shock. Although entirely different from JJK, there are similarities in it as a trio emerges from this situation.
Two boys are the cause behind the tragic incident, they identify as “Sphinx” and somehow a girl got thrown into the mix. The mass panic in this series will definitely make you remember what happened to Jujutsu Kaisen when curses appeared.
This series is amazing in its own right as its animations, character development, and soundtrack are all on-point.
45. Highschool of the Dead
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 7/20 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 29/50 |
Japan was no match to the sudden rise of the undead. No one was safe, not even the high school our MCs attend. Takashi Kimuro took a hard blow as he had to kill his best friend who turned into a zombie.
This particular scene is similar to Jujutsu Kaisen when Yuji had to kill one of his friends whose soul got messed up. The sacrifices that both MCs made were enough to fuel their rage and vow to protect everyone else.
But, against the undead, it may be difficult. Takashi and his gang go through different trials in order to survive. Aside from this, Highschool of The Dead has really great animation and characters. The only question left is whether they’d be able to survive through the apocalypse.
44. Devilman Crybaby
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 10/20 | 7/10 | 6/10 | 7/10 | 30/50 |
Now, Devilman Crybaby is a mixture of weird and interesting because of how devils are created. This story follows Akira Fudou and Ryo Asuka and how their hunt for devils takes them for a strange and dangerous ride.
They attended an immoral party that, well, essentially had a lot of sins that were enough to gather devils. This is similar to Jujutsu Kaisen with the heavy and dark themes as demons are mentioned. Not only that, Akira also suddenly merges with the devil Amon and becomes a devilman.
Now fused with a devil, Akira becomes similar to Yuji with Sukuna sharing a soul. They also make a point to use their abilities for good and to help those in need. If you’re able to stomach the gore-y scenes, this anime gets wholesome at the end. So, it’s worth a shot.
43. Akame ga Kill
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 8/20 | 8/10 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 31/50 |
Akame ga Kill follows Tatsumi, a young villager who decides to embark on a journey. He does his best to earn an honest living, but he is later on faced with the hardships of reality.
He is recruited by Night Raid and figures out that they’re covert assassins employed by the Revolutionary Army. The MCs on this one are quite OP and deal with dark enemies. This may pique your interest since Jujutsu Kaisen is similar to the dark-heavy themes.
It has a similar premise to Jujutsu Kaisen on teaming up with friends, battling the enemy, and having the morals of the MC challenged. There are multiple twists paved in the way of this one-season anime, so might as well try watching this.
42. Gegege no Kitarou
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 10/20 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 31/50 |
Youkai have been reduced to myths in the 21st century but it still leaves a small chance that they exist, since unexplainable events still plague adults with chaos and confusion. Mana writes a letter to the Youkai Post to find answers and is greeted by Gegege no Kitarou.
Kitarou and Yuji share similarities as they are thrown into a life where they have to fend for themselves for survival. Moreover, the entire plot of the series also revolves around ghouls (where Jujutsu Kaisen has spirits and curses) and Kitarou being the sole survivor of his Ghost tribe.
Both MCs are known for their strong will to survive and protect those that matter to them. It may seem like it was tailored for children, just give it a chance…it won’t disappoint you.
41. Blue Exorcist
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 17/20 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 31/50 |
Rin Okumura is a typical troublemaker with the usual problems teens worry about–that is until he gets ambushed by demons. The world he knew turns upside down as he discovers is the son of Satan whose plan is to conquer Assiah (land of the living).
Blue Exorcist is similar to Jujutsu Kaisen with the MCs ending up having a powerful supernatural entity inside them. Their plots are essentially the same as both Rin and Yuji attend schools that teach how to deal with the supernatural.
Rin Okumura is subjected to multiple trials in order to prove that he is not evil, it’s his character that reels us in and supports him with this journey. So, if you liked Jujutsu Kaisen and haven’t seen this one, you’re not going to regret watching this!
40. In/Spectre
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 11/20 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 32/50 |
Basking in a world of youkai, the God of Wisdom, Kotoko Iwanaga is the mediator of the two realms and makes sure that balance is steady. While doing her job, she falls in love with Kurou Sakuragawa and later on, becomes her partner when dealing with youkai.
This is similar to Jujutsu Kaisen as it also deals with spirits and curses. Although it may not be as jaw-dropping, it is still amazing in its own right with the visuals and the story concept. Not to mention, the budding romance this has.
But some of us just can’t stop thinking of Jujutsu Kaisen when the anime deals with spirits and curses. So, why not give this anime a shot!
39. Fairy Tail
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 8/20 | 8/10 | 9/10 | 8/10 | 33/50 |
Fairy Tail is one of the most talked-about anime out there, even to this day! We follow Lucy and her journey with the infamous mage guild, Fairy Tail. Lucy and the gang go around Fiore doing whatever quests they can and helping those in need.
Similar to Jujutsu, Fairy Tail offers great fight scenes and pretty cool character dynamics. Seeing a group of friends that is against all odds would remind you of the characters in JJK during their training and other battles. Plus, Fairy Tail has more than 100 episodes to keep you busy while waiting for updates on Jujutsu Kaisen. You could never go wrong with this one.
38. Trigun
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 11/20 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 7/10 | 33/50 |
Vash the Stampede is known for his merciless personality as he leaves a trail of death and destruction… or something like that? Well, Vash is actually the complete opposite seeing that he’s a softie who claims to have never taken a life. But the bounty of $60,000,000,000 on his head is quite real.
An unconventional trio is formed here as Vash and two insurance agents who seem to be tailing him are thrown into a sudden life-or-death situation. Thus, the similarities of Jujutsu Kaisen in the series, because their carefree life is no longer applicable when death comes knocking on their doors
Well, this is an anime experience you wouldn’t want to miss, so I suggest you take the opportunity and watch the series!
37. Baccano!
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 10/20 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 34/50 |
Bacanno! is a series that tells a story from multiple angles, but what makes this similar to JJK is the act of consumption in order to gain power. We see Yuji collecting and devouring the fingers of Sukuna, and in return, he gains more power—essentially puzzling Sukuna together.
In Baccano, the immortals (well a bit of a spoiler here then), consume other immortals spiritually and gain that person’s knowledge, memories, and emotions. There are different mysteries that surround the series, and it will definitely satiate your hunger for anime similar to JJK.
36. Samurai Champloo
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 12/20 | 8/10 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 34/50 |
This anime follows a group of three individuals who can’t be any more different. Fuu is a clumsy waitress whose small accident earned her samurai men harassing her, Mugen and Jin are two opposite samurai who can’t stop trying to kill each other.
Quite an odd combo, isn’t it? Similar to JJK, it offers a lot of action and comedy that’ll make you glued to your seat. In fact, the eating competition in the series might really do it.
The trio here is just like the trio in Shibusen, they make their differences work—well try to. Samurai Champloo is filled with epic sword fights that may be able to give your hunger for action. No need to wait! Just go ahead and watch it.
35. Noragami
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 12/20 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 34/50 |
With themes of the supernatural, possessions, and powerful beings, Noragami is definitely similar to JJK. However, in Noragami there is a lighter air to it which creates a distinction from Jujutsu.
Yato is a minor god who dreams of being a big shot in the heavens. He spends most of his days finding odd jobs and sometimes they result in fighting phantoms, which can be likened to curses in Jujutsu.
Despite having different ways of exploring such concepts, it has similarities with dealing with demons, saving humans, secret worlds, heinous schemes, and giving us all a good laugh.
34. InuYasha
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 12/20 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 7/10 | 34/50 |
InuYasha is a classic isekai tale that centers on Inuyasha and Kagome, whose fates have been intertwined by the Shikon jewel. After being yeeted into the past, Kagome finds that she has the powers of a priestess.
Similar to JJK, InuYasha deals with a battle between demons, spirits, and mortals. The quest for the Shikon jewel has almost every demon hot on its tail. This anime has supernatural elements like Jujutsu. Although it may be outdated, its story and how it progresses leaves you wanting more.
InuYasha is a bit more fleshed out with comedy, romance, and a bit of the h-genre. So, if you’re looking for a bit more chill youkai-hunting adventure, then you may want to try this.
33. Gintama
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 10/20 | 8/10 | 9/10 | 8/10 | 35/50 |
Gintama is masterfully done with its direction. Gintoki Sakata and his friends are known for doing odd jobs and giving us all a laugh while they’re at it. Gintama is a comedy series, but because of the parody that goes along with it, we see a bit of action here and there.
Make no mistake, this is a shounen anime which makes it similar to Jujutsu. It just has a bit more comedy and a sit-com feel to it. Overall, the review on this series is well-received so why not join the bandwagon and ride the hype with this one.
32. Deadman Wonderland
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 13/20 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 7/10 | 35/50 |
Ganta Igarashi probably has the worst luck ever. After being accused of murder, he was sent to Deadman Wonderland, a high-security prison masked as an amusement park. You see, Ganta witnessed the mass murder that happened to his classmates but leaving him as the sole survivor did not do him any favors.
Deadman Wonderland is filled with mystery, blood magic, and albeit, quirky personalities. If you liked Jujutsu for the dark scenes, then you’re going to enjoy the thrill and suspense this anime has.
31. Toilet Bound Hanako-kun
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 13/20 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 35/50 |
Well, we can’t ignore this one as Jujutsu referenced Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun when explaining apparitions. In Kamome Academy, they have their own version of Hanako-san’s legend. There are rumors that if you successfully summon Hanako-san she will grant the summoner any wish.
Lured by gossip, Nene Yashiro attempts to summon Hanako-san in an attempt to increase her luck for love, but she discovers that Hanako-san was actually a boy. The first encounter led to Nene being entangled with all the supernatural entities that were present in the school.
Although it lacks the action that Jujutsu is known for, it is still interesting and captivating in its own way. Just, don’t be fooled by the art style and seemingly cute Hanako-kun, it is compared to Jujutsu Kaisen for a reason.
30. Durarara!!
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 10/20 | 8/10 | 9/10 | 9/10 | 36/50 |
Durarara!! is an interesting anime that shares the same supernatural themes with a modern setting to Jujutsu. However, with having several MCs, the story deviates from the compared series.
Ikebukuro is a town drowned with strange rumors. Rumors like a headless rider on a motorcycle, a blade that controls its wielder, and a secret gang with an unusual leader… all paint the town chaotic.
Although its intensity is not like Jujutsu, you’ll definitely want to check this out as it lays out an intricate story of different people trying to attain a personal goal.
29. Naruto
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 14/20 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 7/10 | 36/50 |
How can we not include the amazing Naruto here? I mean apart from the usual trio of main characters, both MCs have powerful beings who share their bodies. For those of you who don’t know the greatest leaf ninja, Naruto Uzumaki.
He is a young boy whose fate bears the greatest weight that can change the course of history in their shinobi world. Like Yuji, Naruto is viewed as a dangerous fellow because of a tailed beast sealed inside him.
28. Parasyte: The Maxim
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 14/20 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 36/50 |
This series takes an interesting combination of sci-fi and psychological genres as parasitic aliens invade Earth. These beings take on hosts in order to morph into certain forms to feed on prey.
Our MC, Shinichi Izumi, falls prey to these parasites but manages to deter them from taking over his brain. Still being able to retain his consciousness, he now is forced to coexist with the parasite named Miji. Somewhat similar to Jujutsu Kaisen with Sukuna coexisting with Yuji.
Both shows show inhuman transformations, action-packed scenes, and really cool animations. You’ll definitely want to watch this if you’ve seen Jujutsu Kaisen.
27. Blood Blockade Battlefront
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 14/20 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 36/50 |
Set in a world where different species are forced to coexist, Leonardo Watch’s world turns to a new cultural phase. In fact, a secret organization was created in order to keep the new city in order.
Its dealings with mystery and the supernatural make this an interesting anime to watch while waiting for Jujutsu to drop more episodes. Leonardo suddenly obtains an OP ability at the cost of his sister’s eyesight; he turns to the Libra organization for answers.
Now, Leonardo unexpectedly joins the ranks of the organization and continues on with his misadventures. And if this is just like Jujutsu, then this will probably also give us some laughs along the way.
26. Mob Psycho 100
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 13/20 | 9/10 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 37/50 |
I think it’s no secret that Mob Psycho 100 and Jujustu share the same premise. Well, Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama has psychic abilities, somehow ended up pairing himself with a con artist, and together they are exorcising evil spirits.
Both anime deal with the supernatural but differ in how they tackle the issue. Jujutsu takes on the serious approach and hard action while Mob Psycho 100 leans on the comedy side while still giving us awesome fight scenes!
Another thing that’s similar for sure is that both Mob and Yuji are unpredictable with their powers.
25. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 13/20 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 37/50 |
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure follows the Joestar family and their extremely bizarre adventures (hence, the title). Its humor is way out of proportion, I mean Jujutsu has its moments with the jokes that Gojo and Yuji would blurt out but, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure just tops it.
Aside from the comedy comparison, the characters in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure have spiritual powers that they use for combating the dark forces to save people. Hence, its similarity to Jujutsu. Aside from that, the adventure is just heaps of meme-able moments that almost everyone relates to.
If you’re interested in having a good laugh and some action in between, then this might be the right fit for you!
24. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 13/20 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 37/50 |
The Elric brothers start the series with a strange and haunting past. Being gifted with knowledge of alchemy, the two brothers attempted to resurrect their deceased mother. However, without fully understanding the principles of alchemy, they are left punished and almost left for dead.
Although it doesn’t deal with actual curses and spirits, this series centers on the world of alchemy. Edward and Alphonse are set on as alchemists and travel around the world to retrieve what they lost. There are dark themes in this show that will make your gut wrench and heart ache, just like in Jujutsu.
If you haven’t seen this gem, then I highly suggest you watch it and find out if Edward and Alphonse find their answers.
23. Black Butler
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 13/20 | 9/10 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 38/50 |
The young Earl, Ciel Phantomhive, is known as “the Queen’s Guard Dog” as he and his demon butler handle the supernatural crimes in Victorian England. This is similar to Jujutsu as the MC would often rely on the powers of a demon to handle the more difficult task.
Just like Jujutsu, there are dark mysteries that surround the series, especially the MCs. Ciel and his loyal butler, Sebastian, go around England dealing with their tasks with whatever means necessary—and to fulfill Ciel’s revenge.
This is definitely an anime you should consider watching if you haven’t seen it yet!
22. Darker Than Black
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 13/20 | 8/10 | 9/10 | 8/10 | 38/50 |
Ten years have passed since the appearance of the Heaven’s Gate in South America and the Hell’s Gate in Japan. For purposes unknown, Contractors are given supernatural abilities at the expense of their humanity.
Hei is a Contractor who is also known as the “Black Reaper” in the underworld and is infamous for his work. This is similar to Jujutsu Kaisen as it deals with the supernatural and how certain people can acquire supernatural abilities.
This sci-fi thriller anime not only gives you action but also a view of how political positions and justice are rendered useless when war is taken in the shadows.
21. My Hero Academia!
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 10/20 | 10/10 | 9/10 | 10/10 | 39/50 |
My Hero Academia may be confusing to have on this list, BUT hear me out, okay? We follow our boy Izuku Midoriya, a quirk-less individual who suddenly acquires an OP quirk. This is similar to Yuji when he acquired heightened abilities from having Sukuna.
Deku and Yuji share similarities in the aspect where they are thrown into a new life with powers. Both are in uncharted territory that will test their limits. Both are headstrong characters that make us want to keep up with their stories.
Especially now when My Hero Academia is showing darker themes… oh and the current arc in the manga. Just stop what you’re doing and watch or rewatch the series! Jujutsu can wait.
20. The God of Highschool
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 13/20 | 8/10 | 9/10 | 9/10 | 39/50 |
A tournament known as the “God of Highschool” has begun and the greatest fighters among Korean high schoolers are gearing up to claim the title along with a wish. Among these fighters, a taekwondo expert named Jin Mo-Ri gets an invitation to this competition
The first similarity with Jujutsu is that MAPPA also produced this one, so its animation is top-tier. Further, a trio is also seen here as Mo-Ri, Dae-Wi, and Mi-Ra band together as they really understand what “God of Highschool” would entail.
Filled with supernatural abilities and interesting story arcs, not to mention that this stemmed from a webtoon; this is a bit different and refreshing to see so I recommend you give this anime a try!
19. Nura: Rise of The Yokai Clan
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 15/20 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 39/50 |
Among the youkai, there is a prestigious group that is led by the legendary Nurarihyon. The Nura clan is well-known and is the most feared as they have established quite a reputation. However, the old clan leader is feeling his age and has decided to let his grandson ascend to his position.
But Rikuo Nura is apprehensive of his youkai blood and would rather live out as a human. However, similar to Yuji, Rikuo is forced to take action as his loved ones become targets of evil youkai.
With armies of youkai, magic, curses, and cool battle scenes, this anime would extend your knowledge of youkai and compare how they are depicted in Nura and in Jujutsu. This is a classic shounen anime you wouldn’t want to miss.
18. Shaman King
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 16/20 | 8/10 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 39/50 |
With its reboot last 2021, Shaman King is bringing its nostalgia with better animations and being closer to the manga than its original run. We follow Yoh Asakura in his attempt to hone his shaman skills to become the next Shaman King.
This is also similar to Jujutsu Kaisen with its supernatural themes. But Shaman King centers on finding strong individuals who will fight each other in combat to claim the coveted title, Shaman King.
Whether you watch the original or the reboot, you’d definitely like this anime if you liked Jujutsu Kaisen.
17. Soul Eater
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 16/20 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 7/10 | 39/50 |
Soul Eater is another classic anime that some of us grew up with, and maybe you’ve heard how this series has a connection with Fire Force. Just like Jujutsu, the MCs of Soul Eater, Evans and Maka Albarn, are sent to a school where they are taught to defeat any evil that threatens their world.
This series follows the students in their journey to consume 99 souls and one witch soul in order to become a Death Scythe. Aside from their main goal, they are thrown into a wave of mysteries that will lead them to mature a bit faster than usual.
If you miss the high school setting with a touch of supernatural elements, then Soul Eater might be your cup of tea!
16. Yu Yu Hakusho
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 18/20 | 7/10 | 8/10 | 6/10 | 39/50 |
Yu Yu Hakusho is another classic that can easily be likened to Jujutsu. We follow Yuusuke Urameshi, a delinquent with no clear future who does a good deed by saving a young boy. His selfless act earned him the sympathies of the spirit realm authorities and well, ended up as a Spirit Detective.
He gathers a group of people who share similar characteristics and train together to defend humanity. You’ll enjoy this anime as it bears a resemblance to Jujutsu, I mean the show also referenced Yu Yu Hakusho so… might as well add this to your watchlist.
15. Twin Star Exorcists
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 15/20 | 9/10 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 40/50 |
In a world where Kegare roam, the Twin Star Exorcists Benio Adashino and Rokuro Enmadou are prophesied to help cleanse the world of impurities. Similar to Jujutsu are the exorcists and their quest to rid the world of negative spirits.
However, certain twists and turns will reveal the true nature of the Twin Star Exorcists. As the pair are set to unite via marriage. So, this is where it deviates from the similarities with Jujutsu, as this series also leans toward romance.
Either way, both share similar themes of the supernatural and the goal of ridding the world of spirits and curses. And if you’re curious with how Benio and Rokuro’s relationship develops, you’re just gonna have to watch it.
14. Bungou Stray Dogs

Bungou Stray Dogs follows Atsushi Nakajima from him being an orphan to having a family in a detective agency. Each person in their faction has their own abilities, just like in Jujutsu. Atsushi and his company are set on solving supernatural mysteries.
Despite both having dark themes, both shows provide enough comedic scenes that allow us to explore both ends in terms of the genres presented in the series.
13. D-Gray Man

| 17/20 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 7/10 | 40/50 |

Allen suffers from the curse caused by the Akumas. He travels to meet with other exorcists in order to defend humanity against the evil spirits. With his team, he sets his journey to acquire the anti-Akuma weapon named, Innocence.
With almost similar story plots, D-Gray Man is a classic that you would enjoy if you’ve taken a liking to Jujutsu.

But Denji gets murdered by another devil employed by the Yakuza. Refusing to let him die, Pochita merges with Denji and becomes a Chainsaw Devil. Picking up the pace like Jujutsu Kaisen, this anime is filled with action, suspense, and a few other dark themes.
Not to mention that MAPPA is going to produce this too, so its quality will definitely be on par with Jujutsu Kaisen. Aside from this, we get to see how both MCs deal with their newfound abilities. So, if you crave more action from Jujutsu, Chainsaw Man is your best bet!
11. Hunter x Hunter
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 15/20 | 10/10 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 41/50 |
Hunter x Hunter, a highly favored anime by many would definitely be in this list seeing that this series may have had strong influences in creating Jujutsu. Gon Freecss is a 12-year-old boy who is on a quest to find his missing father.
Along his journey, he picks up friends who share his desire to take the Hunter Exam. Now, both shows depict dark themes that work well with the character developments, the vivid fight scenes, and intelligent banter.
Whether you’ve seen Hunter x Hunter first or Jujutsu, we gotta agree that both shows are really similar and just downright stuck in the favorites.
10. Ushio & Tora
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 17/20 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 41/50 |
Ushio Aotsuki is a son of an eccentric temple priest whose life shifts closer to the youkai world. Freeing Tora from his seal may have been more than what he bargained for… similar to Yuji, Ushio is now wrapped in the world of the spirits.
Although Sukuna and Yuji share a body, Ushio and Tora team up to fight youkai. There are other similarities as well that may entice you to watch this anime.
Both shows have interesting dynamics with the characters, the same action, and nearly the same comedic ploys. Not to mention, powerful youkai as the MCs partners.
9. Tokyo Ghoul
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |

Ken Kaneki goes through his transformation and his quest to discover his identity as he is no longer human. So, we’ve seen Yuji sometimes get controlled by Sukuna, right? Well, what makes Kaneki lose his control over himself is his hunger for flesh if he hasn’t been eating right.
He is forced into a world where him being a half-ghoul is viewed as a danger to both sides which can be compared to Yuji housing Sukuna in his soul. So, if you haven’t given this anime a try yet, I suggest you watch it!
8. Dororo
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 17/20 | 8/10 | 9/10 | 8/10 | 42/50 |
This anime takes curses on an entire level as an infant was born with no limbs, eyes, nose, ears, or skin—yet the child breathes. This is due to the samurai lord Daigo Kagemitsu’s pact with the demons. A curse on his firstborn was the price for his power.
The child was thrown into the river and left to die, but fate had other plans for him as he was saved by a medicine man. The boy was provided with prosthetics and weapons that literally made him a walking sword.
This is similar to Jujutsu Kaisen with the dark undertones, curses, and demons, but it becomes the opposite when comparing Sukuna with Hyakkimaru, as the former gathers the fingers from humans while the latter is looking to regain body parts that the demons have. This makes the anime even more interesting as it is jam-packed with action!

I think some of you have noticed how heavily influenced Jujutsu Kaisen is by Bleach with its dark themes and its nature, also somewhat giving a pre-Soul Society vibe to it too.
Ichigo Kurosaki is one heck of an MC with an interesting bloodline. His journey starts—at least we think it started there—where he meets Rukia, a Soul Reaper. Somehow acquiring her power, he uses it to defeat spiritual creatures called Hollows. He then was forced to join Soul Society in their quest to retain the balance of life and death.
With a spirit-fighting society like Jujutsu, Bleach would be up your alley. Not to mention the final arc of the series is about to drop! So, if you haven’t seen this jackpot, then I suggest you start watching!
6. Seraph of The End
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 19/20 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 43/50 |
In this series, we follow Yuichiro Hyakuya in his journey for revenge. Essentially, he is a man with a plan—but the very plan he has will cost him. Set in a post-apocalyptic world with a dash of the supernatural, Yuichiro’s determination will be tested.
Similar to Jujutsu, there are factions at war, using demons and curses, and how the characters are developed amidst the flow of the story. There is a strong resemblance with the MCs here so, if you’re looking for an anime that may be an exact similar in terms of what was mentioned—then giving this a shot may be worth it.
5. Black Clover
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 15/20 | 10/10 | 10/10 | 8/10 | 43/50 |
We follow Asta and Yuno in this amazing series who are set on becoming the next Wizard King! Although this leans more on the fantasy side, we can’t deny the dark themes that are present with Asta’s abilities.
Asta wasn’t as gifted with magic as Yuno, Asta had no drop of magic at all…but something else was waiting for him. During his unfair battle with Lebuty, he suddenly gets a black grimoire with a five-leaf clover.
He had a devil in his grimoire which can be likened to Yuji with Sukuna. Both MCs utilize their skills with the presence of an unearthly being inside them. You’ll definitely get the hype you crave from Jujutsu in this anime, I promise!
4. Berserk
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 17/20 | 10/10 | 8/10 | 10/10 | 45/50 |
Death seems to favor Guts as he is constantly being hunted by demons. The overall aura of Berserk is similar to Jujutsu as whiffs of betrayal and blood surround the main characters.
Guts is set on a journey with a monstrous blade, Dragonslayer, and is joined by unlikely friends. Together, they face constant danger and impending doom. This may get more gory than Jujutsu and may have more fighting scenes as well.
If Jujutsu Kaisen is at the peak of your favorites, then you’re going to have to give Berserk a shot too!
3. Tokyo Ravens
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 20/20 | 9/10 | 8/10 | 8/10 | 45/50 |
The Omnyou Agency was born as a great mishap that happened in the Second World War, with its main goal to exorcize spiritual disasters that can be likened to Shibusen in Jujutsu.
We follow Hautora who is not adept with Onmyoudou and makes a decision in order to stop history from repeating itself. Magic is more prominent in this series compared to cursed abilities in Jujutsu, but it still presents actions like Jujutsu. Both MCs have similar personalities and the drive to protect their friends
Thus, making Tokyo Ravens a must-watch anime! It could be able to fill that void after binging Jujutsu Kaisen.
2. Attack on Titan
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 16/20 | 10/10 | 10/10 | 10/10 | 46/50 |
Attack on Titan is hands down, a masterpiece! Hence, if you enjoyed Jujutsu then you definitely know why there are some similarities with this anime. We follow our boy, Eren Jaeger, who is in a world with giants called Titans.
Later on in the series, he discovers he can transform into a Titan and uses this to eradicate all Titans. The first similarity here is their goal of saving humanity, and the rest resemble plot twists, battle scenes, and secrets. Not to mention the trio of the series embody their friendship and power in a similar manner to Jujutsu Kaisen.
These two shows are definitely part of the top titles that are taking the anime community by storm!
1. Demon Slayer
| Similarity | Character Writing | Plot | Animation | Total |
| 17/20 | 10/10 | 10/10 | 10/10 | 47/50 |
We are no strangers to our boy, Kamado Tanjiro and his keen instincts to detect demons. Like Yuji, they are entangled with the realm of demons and curses because of certain aspects that they came across.
However, Tanjiro’s journey of defeating demons is carried with warmth for those who deserve it. Demon Slayer offers a different approach to dealing with demons as they heavily focus on sword techniques and breathing styles. Which btw are so cool to look at!
Anyway, both anime are pretty well-known and highly compared. So, if you haven’t seen this yet, then I recommend you start watching now before a plethora of spoilers come your way!
Conclusion
Well, looks like you’ve got a lot of binging to do, might as well start now before season 2 comes out! Jujutsu Kaisen may be compared to a number of anime, but there is no doubt that it has a special place in our hearts…or the gaping hole that we all have.
I’m pretty sure that most of us are still recovering from the fact that we have to wait a couple more months to keep that steady flow of action. But, the best way to cope is to just binge another series right?
Well, if you don’t feel like watching any of the anime mentioned (which you should watch btw), then re-watching the series over and over wouldn’t be so bad.
