Anime has become a way to learn about a country’s culture, traditions, and history. Being a genuine lover of anime, we have come to know that the Japanese have many traditional urban legends. Among them, the very famous ones with teenagers are the “seven wonders” or “seven mysteries.”
One of these seven wonders, mysteries or call it scary stories, is about Hanako-san. She is the ghost of a young girl who haunts the school bathroom and scares the kids. Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun is a manifestation of this wonder in a twisted way.
The plot is set in the Kamome Academy with its own version of Hanako-san. The rumor says that if you can summon Hanako, she will grant a wish within her power. However, it is nearly impossible to summon her.
Yet, the plot turns exciting when Nene Yashiro, a girl in love, summons Hanako-san to fulfill her desperate wish. It turns out that Hanako-san in the Academy was, in fact, a Hanako-kun, who possesses unique abilities. The fun begins when Hanako-kun’s and Nene’s lives intertwine, and Nene finds herself as an assistant for Hanako-kun.
Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is full of mysteries, fun, and best supernatural stuff. For such a fun-filled series, many words left an impression on us Otaku. Today, let’s go through each one’s famous quotes that made us realize many things.
Without further ado, let us begin!!!
QUOTES FROM TOILET-BOUND HANAKO-KUNÂ THAT WILL OPEN YOUR MIND
HanakoÂ
1. I grant a wish for whoever summons me and take one thing as a payment.
– Hanako, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
This one explains that Hanako is actually the mysterious and famous Seventh Wonder of Kamome Academy. He has many supernatural powers and the ability to grant people a wish. However, there is a catch. Hanako demands a price for the wish, and not everyone can pay that price.
2. I’ll have you pay me back with your body.
– Hanako, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Hold it, please; it is definitely not what you think. Hanako has a peculiar yet cheerful and outgoing personality. When Nene asks for a wish, things end up roundabout. She finds herself working as an assistant for Hanako.
She has to help him out with specific tasks. Then Hanako mischievously told Nene that she would have to pay the price of the wish with her body. This left Nene wondering, similar to you guys when you didn’t know the back story.
3. In a world without life and death, people who don’t know when to give up are unstoppable.
– Hanako, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Besides his fun-loving and carefree personality, Hanako also shows his wise and smart side. He is very knowledgeable and knows the realities of life and the dead as well. Hanako knows perfectly well what happens to people who know there is nothing but infinity. They are some golden words from a seemingly carefree kid.
4. If you borrow my power, you need to pay a fair price.
– Hanako, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Well, that’s how it works whether you are alive or dead, a ghost or an alien; it’s all the same for everyone. If you ask for something greater, you have to pay an equal price. Hanako just makes it clear to everyone who aims for his power.
5. When you die, that’s it. There is nothing more. Nothing new begins.
– Hanako, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Now, that is something coming from a ghost, lol! An always cheerful Hanako sometimes does lose hope in everything. Albeit a ghost himself with some definite powers, he would still tell people that death is just the end; nothing new begins.
On a serious note, no one would believe such a statement from a being like Hanako-kun. What do you think?
6. Power beyond your ability brings nothing but destruction, boy.
– Hanako, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
This is deep. Hanako-kun being a powerful ghost, knows what it costs to have power. He definitely has a dark side; from his experiences, he makes sure that people know what it means to have otherworldly powers.
7. No matter how much you regret or wish, if you couldn’t do something in life, you can’t do it after death either.
– Hanako, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
It is no news. If you have common sense, which is not very common, you would know the meaning of the words Hanako said. That is probably why they say not to do things that you might regret after because there is just one life, and you have to make the best out of it.
But wait, the person who quoted this did get a chance to do many things even after death, right??? Wow, that was a revelation!!!
8. Humans and apparitions should just be however they want. If that would break the world, then it’s better off broken.
– Hanako, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Hmm! Such deep words! I don’t have the wisdom and knowledge to comprehend this statement, but let’s try it. In simple words, let things be. He is probably telling the ones trying to cross their destined domains to let each side be.
Whether they survive by killing each other or destroying the world that is how it is supposed to be. I think so. Let me know if that is what he wants to convey.
9. If you want power beyond human comprehension, the price will be that much steeper.
– Hanako, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
In short, Hanako has been saying this same thing in different words and styles just for stupid minds to understand that the greater the power, the greater the price. Don’t ask for something you have no idea about, you won’t know what it might bring.
10. I like the way people look when they stop holding it in.
– Hanako, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Stop thinking about anything weird! Our boy Hanako is just a fun-loving person who sometimes likes to tease people. He loves it when people stop suppressing themselves and come up front. Be it evil or good, he just loves it when they let themselves out.
11. I’m an apparition. The seventh of the seven wonders of the school, “Hanako-san of the Bathroom.”
– Hanako, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Hanako indeed is one of the seven wonders of the School. But did you know that he is also the one who governs over them?
Yashiro Nene
1. I want the person I like to return my feelings right away!!
– Yashiro Nene, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Nene is the living proof of an energy ball. She is highly energetic and outgoing. She would do anything to help people. She believes that if she likes someone, the other will do. However, this one belief of her created so much fuss.Â
It took ghosts and supernatural powers to make her realize that she didn’t like her senpai, instead, it was just an admiration.
2. I’ll do it. I want to change back! Please, Hanako-san, make me a human again!!
– Yashiro Nene, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
It is not a quote, apparently, but Nene said these words when she realized she was running after a mirage. And this request here intervened in Hanako’s and Nene’s life.
3. You are not doing this because you love him; you’re doing it for yourself.
– Yashiro Nene, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
After having a tragic and one-of-a-kind experience herself, Nene is now sober enough to quote golden words and advise people. Ah, it feels satisfying for some reason.
 Kou Minamoto
1. You know, maybe you shouldn’t have forced yourself. Just be yourself.
– Kou Minamoto, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
This is the thing that we all tend to forget and we all want to hear. Our boy Kou confidently conveys it, just be yourself.
2. Who the hell are you? Get your hands off, my friend!!
– Kou Minamoto, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Well, our boy here is very protective of his friends. Kou hates it if someone bothers his friends. If you don’t leave them alone, you are in big trouble.
3. I don’t mind dying if it is to keep everyone safe.
– Kou Minamoto, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Being selfless is one thing, but there is rarely anyone who would sacrifice themselves to save others…besides a Hero. Thus, it is safe to say Kou is our hero.
4. Just because you are dead doesn’t mean we can’t be friends.
– Kou Minamoto, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Oh my my!!! It is one brave quote coming from Kou. For ordinary people like me, it’s the end if you are dead. I don’t desire to be friends with a ghost. However, for Kou, being dead or alive doesn’t bother him. What about you?
5. It’s gonna take some time… I’m gonna get stronger just like you, Teru-nii. And then I’m gonna decide what to do. If I need to, I’ll exorcise him! So keep your hands off him!!
– Kou Minamoto, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Okay, fellas, it may sound like Kou taking an oath indirectly. However, if you read the manga or watch the anime, he is clearly threatening Teru to stay away from Hanako. He won’t let anyone harm his loved ones, no matter who it is.
Tsuchigomori Ryūjirou
1. You should make your decision. Just make sure you don’t regret it.
– Tsuchigomori Ryujiro, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Tsuchigomori is a Science teacher at Kamome Academy. Being a teacher, he is definitely giving a piece of excellent advice. It’s just that he sounds more like a philosopher than a Science teacher, doesn’t he?
2. I don’t have much power left… but I’ll help you as much as I can. If you ever need someone to talk to, I’m here. I’m not human… but I’m still technically your teacher.
– Tsuchigomori Ryujiro, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
In contrast to his mischievous and sarcastic personality, Tsuchigomori cares about the people he likes. He has a soft heart and often tells his beloved students that they can share anything with him. He is there to listen.
3. He is a ghost…But he is my friend. But he disappeared once. I couldn’t save him.
– Tsuchigomori Ryujiro, Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun
Aww, so sad!!! It always feels bad to lose someone, but it is worse when you know you could save them and didn’t. The same is the case with Tsuchigomori. He may not show it; still, he regrets not saving his friends.
Conclusion
Alright then, these were all the quotes from Hanako-kun and other characters. There was some lifesaving advice, and some expressed the loss and challenging experience. All in all, they were worth the time.
I bet you have at least one wish if you ever find Hanako-kun. However, I wonder if you are ready to pay the price? Let me know in the comments below if you have the guts to do so. Now, it’s time for goodbyes. See you again soon with something more exciting, fellas!
Till then, have fun!

Hey, I noticed that you made a mistake on quote ten for Hanako.
The quote “I like the way people look when they stop holding it in” is actually from Hanako’s twin, Tsukasa Yugi.
(Since Aname[Hanako] does stuff for the living and Tsukasa does stuff for the dead, and it’s seen where Tsukasa messes with the living in negative ways hurting them.)
Thanks for pointing that out! We appreciate your attention to detail. We’ll make sure to correct the mistake in our next update.
also number 8 for hanako was also tsukasa
