When it comes to intense combats brimming with blood and heat, Baki has to be on the top of the list. The mixture of intense action along with the storyline of avenging your own father makes the anime much more interesting. Baki was released in 2018 and its genre is MARTIAL ARTS! Baki the Grappler: Childhood Saga (Season 1)

Baki Season 1 tells us the story of our MC Baki who’s obsessed with training and Martial Arts specifically. He trains his muscles to get bigger and stronger. His martial arts skills are a gift from his mother known as Emi Akezawa. Imagine your mother is a martial artist! OMG! That sounds cool, right? 

Baki only has one goal, and it is nothing more than to surpass his own father. For this very goal, he sets out on a journey and trains himself. Baki belongs to a wealthy family and his mother supports him to become a strong warrior like his father.

Therefore, he was taught martial arts. He sets out on a similar journey to his father and meets many powerful fighters. Baki ends up fighting his father as well, and gets brutally beaten too. 

After learning that he’s not that strong just yet, he continues to train himself. After years, he finds an underground area for fighting where he fights some of the most powerful fighters. The true story begins here when he decides to avenge his father and starts to take training more seriously.

Baki the Grappler: Maximum Tournament Saga (Season 2) 

In this season, an international tournament takes place underground. In this place, some of the strongest fighters of all time participate. A lot of battles occur and many twists take place as well! This tournament is held by Mitsunari Tokugawa. Many upper classes will participate in this tournament and let’s see what happens to Baki around such powerful people! 

This season finishes with Baki combating his own brother, Jack Hanma. This part will also tell you about Jack Hanma’s background! So, brace yourselves. Baki: Most Evil Death Row Convicts Saga (Season 1)

Baki continues his journey to becoming stronger than his father, little did he know that some of the freshly escaped prisoners will come after him! Yes, Baki made his name in the martial arts world, but does that mean he’s endangering his own life or what. These five prisoners are known to be the most notorious and dangerous prisoners! So, if you want to know more about it, watch Baki!

Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament Saga (Season 2) 

Moving onto the next arc, we’ve got Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament Saga. It revolves around Baki who got poisoned and was on the verge of dying. There’s a cure for Baki’s illness, but the only way for him to get treated is to  attend the Great Raitai Tournament! OMG, that’s more like blackmailing, isn’t that right? Well, will Baki survive such a rash tournament? Will he make it out alive? To find out, watch Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament Saga! Here’s the filler table! 

 

Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre 

To reach his father’s level, Baki did everything he could. He trained harder than anybody else. Similarly, Baki in this season tries to increase his potential. The show starts off with Baki beating up a child. His shadow boxing is on the next level. Baki’s super good at shadowboxing. In fact, he again fights the prisoners in order to build strength and to fight his father. Furthermore, Baki even goes all the way to fight Mr. Unchained at the prison. I won’t give you guys further spoilers. But let’s see if there’s a filler episode in this season. 

 

Main Characters

Now you know about the storyline of Baki. It’s time to talk about some of the main characters in the series! This anime is full of warriors and manly characters, so don’t be surprised unless it’s your ideal type! Let’s get started! 

Baki Hanma 

Baki Hanma is the main male protagonist in Baki. He sets out on a journey to surpass his father’s strength. Baki is known as the “champion” and he wants to follow his father’s footsteps by facing everything his father faced. 

When it comes to his appearance, he has dark brown wavy hair and his height is said to be 5’6 or 167 cm. OMG! We have the same height! Anyways, as the story progresses, Baki makes muscles and trains them as well. His main strength comes from his sturdy body. However, when it comes to his personality, he’s a carefree individual who loves freedom. Baki tends to take his training super seriously and that’s why he’s one of the strongest characters in the series. 

As for his loved ones, he has deep respect and love for them. He is loyal to the ones he loves and will make sure to protect them at any cost. Being the MC, these traits are considered very common. Isn’t that right? His intelligence is a plus-point, it enables him to think even in the toughest given situation. 

We all know he’s a martial artist and he learned it with the help of his mother. His strength and endurance are worth-appreciating. These things get him through the most difficult tournaments or battles. Baki can do several tricks too. For instance, endorphin is one of his tricks which was used against Gaia for the very first time. He can do rolling kicks and a lot more things. If you’re curious about Baki, watch the anime. It’s going to be worth it! 

 

Emi Akezawa 

Emi Akezawa is the martial artist mother we’ve all heard about. She’s Baki’s mother who has been there for him besides his father. She supports Baki in every decision he makes. Therefore, she thought that Baki could train to surpass his father. She’s such a cool mother, right? 

Emi Akezawa belongs to a very wealthy family. She’s a very supportive and caring mother who tried her best to make her son believe that he could do something. Many men would kill for this lady because she’s super charming! 

I mean, look at her! She’s perfect. Imagine your mother is a martial artist, and on top of that she looks THIS COOL! That’s all I’m going to tell you guys about her since telling you more means spoiling the story! So, don’t let me spoil it for you, just go ahead and watch Baki. 

 

Yujiro Hanma 

Now, even the strongest characters in the anime fear this guy for his strength. That’s right, he’s Baki’s father and he’s also one of the strongest characters in the anime. If you see him on the streets, you better hide under the sheets. His fearsome aura scares everybody and his strength is just too much. Will Baki be able to surpass this beast? He’s known as the strongest fighter worldwide. So, just imagine his strength! 

Yujiro is the main antagonist in the anime and he’s the main guy Baki has to take down. He just wants to prove that he can surpass his father. When it comes to Yujiro’s personality, he’s a furious and arrogant man. He looks down upon everybody since he’s the strongest fighter in the whole world. He tends to kill people if they bother him a lot. In fact, he gets bothered by everyone pretty quickly. 

He’s driven by his emotions. If he wants to kill someone just for “satisfaction”, he will. That sounded dark, didn’t it? Anyways, That’s it for Yujiro Hanma. Let’s see if his own son can take him down or nah! To find out, watch Baki!
