25. Krazy-8

25 Krazy 8

Krazy-8 or also known as Domingo Molina for his real name is one of the first characters  you’ll get to know in Breaking Bad as he was Jesse’s partner in the drug business. Even though he didn’t last long in the first season, he was still quite a threat to Walter and Jesse. Eventually, he was killed off by Walter White as Krazy-8 also attempted to kill him with a shard from a broken plate (Breaking Bad Season 1, Episode 3).

24. Andrea Cantillo

24 Andrea Cantillo 2009

Andrea Cantillo was one of the minor characters in Breaking Bad and really didn’t have a major role in the story. She was an addict and a single mother of the kid, Brock Cantillo. After she encountered Jesse Pinkman, it is because of him that she stopped using drugs and moved on to a more proper way of living.

Her relationship with him was very brief and as Jesse decided to return to the drug business, they broke up. Sadly, she was also killed off in the story by Todd Alquist to serve as Jesse’s punishment for refusing to cook for them (Breaking Bad Season 5, Episode 15).

23. Victor

23 Victor 2004

Victor was Gus Fring’s right-hand man over the course of the series. When Walter White got involved in Gus’s business, Victor was one of the people that Walt makes a deal with whenever they handed over a batch and get paid. As the series progresses, Victor has become more of a nuisance to Gus’s business as he became one of the suspects after Gale Boetticher’s murder. This led to Gus killing him off in the story with a box cutter (Breaking Bad Season 4, Episode 1).

Even though he got killed off by his own boss, Victor is actually one of the most loyal subordinates of Gus due to being silent all the time and always getting the job done.

22. Huell Babineaux

22 huell

One of Saul Goodman’s employees and his personal bodyguard is Huell Babineaux! He was an expert thief and pick-pocketer and that was the main reason why Saul hired him for the position. They had a strong past, especially during the events of Better Call Saul. Up until the end, Huell was one of the guys deemed to be the most loyal to Saul and his antics.

21. The Cousins

21 cous 1

Marco and Leonel Salamanca are the so-called The Cousins in the drug world due to being related to the infamous Salamanca Family. In the series, the twins never talk at all but you can easily tell by their actions that they’re very ruthless and will not hesitate to kill anyone if asked to do so. Even their presence itself is already enough to intimidate their enemies making them one of the most fearsome characters in the series.

20. Lydia Rodarte-Quayle

20 lydia

Lydia Quayle is the head of Madrigal Electromotive’s Logistics department. When Gus Fring was still alive and at the top of the business empire, she was the one who provided him with methylamine but after his death, she switched over to Walt’s business providing him also the same substance.

As a business executive, Lydia is highly professional in her job and is very discreet, especially when making deals with professionals in the “business”. However, her paranoiac personality is one of the downsides to her character as she gets more involved in drug dealings (Breaking Bad Season 5, Episode 2).

19. Marie Schrader

19 marie 1

One of the major supporting characters in Breaking Bad is Marie Schrader. She was the wife of Hank Schrader, a DEA agent. Marie is also the sister-in-law of the main character, Walter White. Even though her husband is a part of the DEA, she’s actually a kleptomaniac herself especially when it comes to shiny objects. Whenever she sees one, she immediately has the urge to steal them, and is quite shown on several occasions (Breaking Bad Season 4, Episode 3).

18. Don Eladio

18 Don Eladio

Don Eladio is the big boss of the Cartel and this is the guy to whom Gus Fring and Hector Salamanca answer. You could say that he was at the top of the drug empire until he was killed off by Gus Fring and his men. His character was shown as a chill dude at first but he’s actually a ruthless kingpin especially if you made one wrong mistake.

Back when Gus and his best friend, Max, first negotiated with Don Eladio, it instantly went downhill because they tried to manipulate Don Eladio by becoming their distributor. This led to Eladio’s men immediately shooting Max in the head and giving a warning to Gus (Breaking Bad Season 4, Episode 8)..

17. Todd Alquist

17 todd

Todd Alquist is an antagonist introduced in Season 5 of Breaking Bad.  Just like Walter White, he’s also a guy who knows how to cook meth and has worked with Walter’s group by setting up their base of operations and conducting a train heist to steal some methylamine.

He was introduced to be a nice-looking guy at first but as his involvement with Jack Welker’s gang was revealed, it is there where his true colors were shown as a ruthless guy who gets the job done especially when killing a target. This was shown when he killed Andrea Cantillo without any hesitation while Jesse helplessly watches the horrible scene (Breaking Bad Season 5, Episode 15).

16. Steven Gomez

16 gomie 1

Steven Gomez or often called as Gomie by Hank Schrader, is a DEA agent who works with Hank, especially during street bust operations. He is also Hank’s closest friend and has been his solid partner ever since they started on the Heisenberg case. During the course of the final season, he was eventually killed off by Jack and his men when they engaged in a gunfight (Breaking Bad Season 5, Episode 14).

15. Gale Boetticher

15 Gale 2009

Gale Boetticher is Walter White’s assistant in cooking meth as a replacement to Jessie Pinkman. Just like Walter, Gale is also an excellent chemist and attempted to pursue a doctorate degree back when he was in Colorado. Unlike any other characters in Breaking Bad, Gale is probably the nicest character you’ll know in the series, but unfortunately, due to a sudden turn of events, he had to be killed.

As Walter White discovered that Gale is being used by Gus to replace Walt’s position as a chemist, he ordered Jesse to finish Gale off so that Gus won’t have any other choice. Getting Walt replaced would also mean his immediate death including his family. As for Walter’s case, killing the poor chemist is the only path he could take (Breaking Bad Season 3, Episode 13).

14. Walter White Jr.

14 flynn

Walter White Jr. or shortly known as Walt Jr. is obviously the son of Walter White and as the memes say in the Breaking Bad community… he loves breakfast! Walt Jr. is a kid with a case of cerebral palsy and attends the school, J. P. Wynne High School. It is the same place where Walter White works as a chemistry teacher.

Even though Walt Jr. totally has no idea of what’s happening in the world of Breaking Bad, he is a caring son who loves his family very much. He even created a website that accepts donations for Walter’s cancer operation (Breaking Bad Season 2, Episode 12).

13. Jane Margolis

13 jane

Jane Margolis was the landlord of a small apartment that Jesse stays in. Due to their frequent interactions, they eventually became lovers which turned out pretty bad once Jesse offered her a joint. This led Jane to return to becoming an addict again.

She met her untimely death after she suffocated on her own vomit while she was asleep due to an overdose. Walter could have saved her since he was a witness but decided not to because he needs Jesse back as his partner. Because of her character and personality, she was the only one who was able to understand Jesse on a personal level, and her tragic death was one of the things that will be most remembered in the series (Breaking Bad Season 2, Episode 12).

12. Jack Welker

12 jack

Jack Welker or also known as Uncle Jack is Walter White’s final adversary in the series. He is the leader of his own crime gang and one of the known members in the group is his niece, Todd Alquist. Even though his group is not as big as Gus’s empire or the Cartel’s, he still posed a great threat to Walt.

He and Walt had a good start in the beginning, but after Hank’s death, the only thing in Walt’s mind is revenge. Jack as a villain is very dangerous not just because of his access to a lot of firearms but also has communications to the ones who are in prison and have them act as assassins to kill other prisoners if needed (Breaking Bad Season 5, Episode 8).

11. Skinny Pete

11 skinny

Skinny Pete or also known as Peter, is one of Jesse Pinkman’s closest friends alongside Badger. He is a minor character in the series and is shown every time Jesse hangs out with his friends. Even though he’s not as competent when it comes to the business, Pete is one of the guys that Jesse always counts on when he needs a way out just like the time when they swapped cars in the Breaking Bad movie, El Camino.

10. Skyler White

10 skyler 1

Skyler White is one of the main protagonists in the series and is the wife of Walter White. Throughout the early seasons, Skyler may seem more of an annoying character that eventually becomes a bit of a hindrance to Walter’s goals. But in the later seasons, after she knew Walt’s real career, she was the one who helped him in laundering the money they got from their deals. Even though she’s tired of everything that’s happening in their family, she still tried her best in considering Walt’s criminal life.

9. Badger

9 badger

Just like Skinny Pete, Badger is also one of Jesse Pinkman’s best friends in the series. Despite being a junkie for most of the time, he can actually be pretty reliable when he’s got a job to do whether it be from Jesse or Walter.

8. Tuco Salamanca

8 Tuco Salamanca 1

Tuco Salamanca is one of the greatest adversaries of Walter and Jesse in the criminal world. As a Salamanca, it is already a given that he has a big gang himself with a large territory. He is one of the most brutal kingpins in the Breaking Bad series and will not even hesitate to beat up his own gang members if they make a mistake. Truly one of the most fearsome characters in the series that even the Director decided to kill off Tuco in the story. (Breaking Bad Season 2, Episode 2).

7. Hector Salamanca

7 TioSalamanca

Hector Salamanca is the final Salamanca member for this list and he was once a big part of the Cartel until he suffered a heart disease that caused him to become a cripple. But even though he looks like a harmless guy sitting in his wheelchair all the time, he is still well-respected by the Cartel and the Salamanca Family.

In the past, Don Hector is a merciless druglord and will not hesitate to off anyone if he needs to. Just like when he ended the life of Max, Gus’s best friend (Breaking Bad Season 4, Episode 8).

6. Mike Ehrmantraut

6 kid named finger

Mike Ehrmantraut is Gus Fring’s most trusted subordinate due to being the most discreet man he ever knew. He was a former cop and had taken different odd jobs from different dealers until he was employed by Gus Fring.

This guy is not just any old man in the series because he really knows his way whenever he’s in a fight and his quick thinking is probably one of his best traits in the series. Due to also having a lot of experience in the criminal world, he knows a lot of things when it comes to “what to do” and “what not to do.

5. Saul Goodman

5 saul

The one and only Criminal Lawyer or should I say “Criminal” Lawyer in Breaking Bad is Saul Goodman! Saul’s character has become a meme material in lots of different ways and is famous for his phrase “Better Call Saul!”.

For most of the series, you can see him as some kind of a comic relief because his appearance always makes the tension a bit lighter due to his jokes and uplifting tone. He was also a major part of Walter’s criminal career, especially in the process of money laundering.

4. Hank Schrader

4 hank

Hank Schrader is one of the main characters in the series as Walter’s brother-in-law and an agent of the DEA. He’s one of the main guys who leads the chase in determining Heisenberg’s true identity alongside his partner, Steven Gomez.

Just like Saul, Hank Schrader is also an uplifting type of guy. He eases the tension for most of the scenes he is in because he really has that cool “uncle” vibe in him. However, when it comes to Heisenberg, that’s when he gets incredibly serious especially when he discovers his true identity being Walter White (Breaking Bad Season 5, Episode 8).

3. Gustavo Fring

3 gus

Coming up 3rd is Gustavo Fring, the owner of the fast-food chain, Los Pollos Hermanos. His fast-food company, however, is only being used as a front to cover his true criminal business. In the world of Breaking Bad, Gus is one of the most well-written characters out there when it comes to role and personality.

The actor, Giancarlo Esposito, has done a great role for Gus’s character since he managed to show the different sides of Gus’s personality as the owner of a criminal business and as the owner of a fast-food restaurant. The series even managed to emphasize his rivalry against Don Hector even though he’s a supporting character

2. Jesse Pinkman

2 jesse

Jesse Pinkman is Walter White’s main partner in the criminal business. They started off as a cook and a dealer during the early seasons. When it comes to character development, Jesse has one of the best ones in the series since we get to see his inner goodness as the story progresses and realize he’s actually not an evil guy.

He’s also the same guy you see in memes who shout out “Mistah White” or some other curse words you may hear.

1. Walter White

1 waltuh

Finally, what we have for the last entry is the legend, Walter White, or the guy more famously known as Heisenberg. I wouldn’t say that Walter has the best character development in the series but rather, his complete change as a person is what made him the best among other characters in Breaking Bad

He started off as just a regular chemistry teacher, and a good father. But in the later seasons, the more he gets involved in the “business”, the more he breaks badly. Add to that, his ego and narcissistic attitude is what fueled him to become more of what he is and because of that, he managed to earn the top spot in the criminal empire.

CONCLUSION

Breaking Bad

The Breaking Bad Universe has a lot of characters that are so well-written not just in terms of their role but in their personality as well and I think we managed to include those characters in this list we have. And so, this marks the end of our list of best Breaking Bad characters!
