Everyone has heard of Dragon Ball. It is an action-packed series loved by people of all ages. Even if you don’t know much about anime or manga, you surely have seen these characters at least once, somewhere, somehow. No one can resist these breathtaking battles paired with heartwarming stories about so many wonderful characters. 

Also, here is a short disclaimer for whenever you see the words [Fictional] or [Manga]. It means they were not officially announced to be the canonical birthdays of the characters but it is what we see from other sources (i.e. the manga stating it before). 

The writer, Akira Toriyama, did not really think much of the birthdays of his characters. They are mostly years and not specific dates. Plus, it was difficult to think of birthdays as most characters come from different parts of the universe. 

Nonetheless, here is a list of their incredible characters’ birthdays so you know when to celebrate with them! You might even find out you share a birthday with your favorite character! It is time to take a break from finding Dragon Balls and find your cosmic birthday twin.

DRAGON BALL CHARACTER BIRTHDAYS

 

JANUARY

 

Senbei Norimaki (January 17)

The creator of the perfect robot, Arale, is none other than Senbei Norimaki! He is a super genius and a real tech wizard. No one can possibly match him when it comes to his outstanding inventions. Senbei is the Senbeist! (sen-best? sen-beist? Come on, we have got to show some love for this loveable genius haha!)

Despite being one of the earth’s most brilliant inventors, he was not very well known until he won an award for making the Reality Machine 2. This man likes to keep a low profile. In fact, he tells everyone that Arale is his younger sister to avoid a lot of commotion over her. 

 

Mr. Satan (January 31 – Fictional)

Yes, it is a pretty weird name but his real name is actually Mark! He also loves to leave his mark whenever he goes. Mr. Satan’s flowing locks are so filled with well..himself! He is so full of it and loves announcing that he is the strongest man in the world. 

This was not without proof though. He was the reigning World Martial Arts Champion for some time so he kind of has a right to be a bit of an egomaniac.

FEBRUARY 

 

Mr. Popo (February 16 – Fictional)

Get ready for a magic carpet ride! Mr. Popo can fly anywhere using his magical carpet. This is very useful as he is the attendant to Earth’s Guardian. 

Not only that, but he is also the one who tends to the grounds of the Lookout. So if you like what you see there, remember to say thank you to their sweet caretaker and gardener! He is very welcoming and well-mannered. Nothing short of a gentleman, our Mr. Po-polite (popo? polite? hehe). 

 

MARCH

 

Videl (March 14 – Fictional)

We already talked about her dad earlier in this list, Mr.Satan. He is actually very protective of his daughter. It is his sort of dad thing and we love seeing more sides to a character. He always checks to see if a man would be worthy enough to even try to be with his precious princess. 

She, later on, married Gohan and together they had a child named Pan. Like many other people, she became a lot more motherly after, well, becoming a mother. She used to be a feisty girl with a bit of a tomboyish-like attitude. It still comes out sometimes too! Just like the saying goes, “you can not hide what is inside” haha!

 

Yamcha (March 20)

Courageous and confident, are the words to describe Yamcha (well, unless you are a woman). He is a very skilled fighter as well as a total fighting geek. As a huge fan of the World Martial Arts Tournament, he has always wanted to join it and win the entire thing.

Yamcha saw Goku as an enemy at one point but the two quickly became friends after getting to know one another. He is also very close friends with the Puar and was Bulma’s ex-boyfriend. This is a sign that even if you are scared, you should definitely shoot your shot! Haha!

 

Master Roshi (March 20 – Fictional)

We have our first pair of birthday twins, Yamcha and Master Roshi! Some sources pointed to his birthday being on the 20th of March in Age 430. This pervy person may not look like it (because he has got his nose bleeding out from certain magazines) but he is a master of martial arts. 

He is also known as the Turtle Hermit and taught many amazing fighters like Goku, Krillin, Yamcha, and Gohan. He is actually a well-respected mentor and his students look up to him. One of the things he is most famous for is being the originator of the Kamehameha Wave. (Did you yell out Kamehameha too? HAHA can’t blame you!)  

 

APRIL

 

Goku  (April 16 – Manga)

Now for the super saiyan himself, Son Goku! He was actually born with the name Kakarot but Grandpa Gohan changed his name to Son Goku when he arrived on earth. 

This man is more than a fighting dreamer. (wait oops, wrong anime haha!) He is always training to be the best that he can possibly be! As one of the strongest fighters in the world, he has kept the earth in one piece and away from danger. 

Be sure to watch out for his fights that surely keep you on the edge of your seat! Toriyama actually forgot to mention when Goku’s birthday is but it was stated in the manga that it is April 16.

MAY

 

Majin Buu ( May 8)

He is also called Good Buu due to him being practically the embodiment of pure goodness. Majin Buu is literally an entity of pure good. He was all the good parts of Innocent Buu when he split himself into Good Buu and Evil Buu. 

You can already tell from his name that he is un-buu-lievably (unbelievably haha!) sweet and caring towards everyone. Majin Buu would be a great friend and fighter! Not only is he kind but he can kick butt with his own Majin Kamehameha!

Piccolo (May 9)

Piccolo, also known as Piccolo Jr, Ma Junior, and Kamiccolo, is a well known Namekian. He is also the reincarnation of King Piccolo! 

He was the clever and cunning main antagonist during the final saga of Dragon Ball. This did not last long because like many people before him, he became less of a villain after spending time around Goku’s adorable son, Gohan. If you saw him, you’d renounce your evil ways too.  

 

Arale (May 17)

 

Introducing the world’s first perfect android, Arale Norimaki! Except for the fact that she needs glasses, she is an ideal robot! She is actually very nearsighted so that is her only physical flaw. (Girls with glasses are always perfect anyways and no one can argue otherwise)

The genius behind her creation is her quote-on-quote older brother, Senbei Norimaki. She has the ultimate combo of super powerful and super playful! Her naive but adorable personality has captured the hearts of millions!

 

Gohan (May 18)

Named after Goku’s adoptive grandfather, Gohan, we have Son Gohan. He is a half-breed Saiyan and the eldest son of Goku and Chi-chi. Gohan, later on, married Videl and had one adorable daughter, Pan.

Just like his father, Gohan is an impeccable martial artist. Despite this, he does not like fighting unless it is completely necessary like when a loved one is in danger. The fire for fighting is not the same as his father’s but the skills are definitely there! He will do whatever it takes to protect those he cares about. 

 

Pan (Sometime in May – Age 779)

Daughter of Gohan, she is a powerful Saiyan-Earthling hybrid. To be more specific, she is ¾ Human-type Earthling and ¼ Saiyan. She likes being independent, taking control of situations, and kicking danger right in the dragon balls. 

Martial arts training is something she takes very seriously. Coming from a family of legendary fighters, this is to be expected. It really runs in the family.

We actually don’t have a specific date for her birthday but we know that she was born around May during Age 779. 

 

JUNE

 

Launch (June 17)

Keep the pepper and dust away! You better watch out when she sneezes! And no, it is not because she has a dad-level sneeze. 

Whenever she sneezes, she changes into another personality! Launch has two personalities she switches between. One of them is a hot-headed blonde that turns to violence the second she gets angry. 

The second is a peaceful and pleasant blue-haired woman that would not hurt a fly. In fact, she would give the fly some food and a nice place to rest! You can only pray that you get to see this blue beauty without seeing the other blonde beast blast bullets into you.

Marron ( June 18 – Fictional – Age 771 )

She is the daughter of Krillin and Android 18. This means she grew up around a lot of martial arts and most likely took after her powerful parents, right? Well, this is an exception. Unlike most of the other children that had fearsome fighters for parents, she was not put into training to hone her skills. 

Despite not being a warrior in the making, she still is friends with the other Z Fighters’ children. Marron definitely took one thing from her mother. It is the love for the pretty things in life. A shopping spree is always a fun time for her. She shares this interest with Bulla. 

 

JULY

 

Frieza (July 6 – Fictional)

Crank up that boss music! This is Frieza, the main antagonist in the Dragon Ball series. This merciless leader of the Frieza imperialist army is no joke. His vile and villainous acts are known far and wide, making him a feared man across the universe. He has tried to invade earth many many times. In doing so, he met Goku. We all know these meetings did not go well. 

Also on a side note, here are some fun facts about his concept. (Every villain has an intense backstory, one way or another) And since his name is a play on the word “freezer”, all of the people under him are named after the things that you keep in the refrigerator! Can you find and figure out what each one is while going through this list?

 

AUGUST 

 

Vegeta (August 14 – Fictional)

Proud and powerful, the prince of the fallen Saiyan race, we have Vegeta! He can do it all! He was a villain, an antihero, and a hero all in one. This man went through all the possible roles and still saw Goku as a worthy rival. His character development is definitely praiseworthy.  

Even though we have all this in mind, he has always been very cold and arrogant. It even rubbed off a bit on his son, Trunks. The apple never falls from the tree trunks, you know. haha! 

 

Bulma (July 6 – Fictional)

Bulma is a super smart scientist that can conquer any obstacles in her way using her state-of-the-art technology. In fact, she was the one who invented the Dragon Radar, which is used for tracking down Dragon Balls quickly and easily!

As mentioned before, she used to date Yamcha but is now the wife of Vegeta. She has two children named Bulla and Trunks. 

 

Goten (August 26 – Fictional)

As the youngest son of Goku and Chi-Chi, he is the famous half Saiyan half Earthling hybrid we all know and love. He’s like a chibi Goku! 

This kind and courteous kid is the perfect combination of his parents. But his perfect combo is with his best friend, Trunks! They are two very playful partners in crime. Despite being influenced by his duo, he always stays well-mannered and remembers what his parents taught him. 

 

SEPTEMBER

 

Puar (September 2)

Poof! Here comes the adorable little shape-shifter, Puar! He looks like a cat and rabbit kind of hybrid. Nonetheless, it is the cutest! This charming cutie is the faithful friend of Yamcha. 

These two are as thick as thieves. They’re like two peas in a puar-d! (two peas in a pod? in a puar-d? HAHA!) He would follow his best friend to the edge of the world with no questions asked. Definitely a once in a lifetime type of friend.

 

Oolong (September 23)

There is always more room on this list for another shapeshifter! Meet Oolong! Nope, not the tea. This little troublemaking pig uses his abilities to mess with other villages. He was even expelled from his shapeshifting school (where Puar was in too!) because he stole the underpants of the teacher!

He likes women and smoking cigars. Sounds pretty familiar, huh? Kind of like another pervert we know (cough Master Roshi cough). After a lot of mischief though, he ends up joining Goku and Bulma on their search for the Dragon Balls. 

 

OCTOBER

 

Krillin (October 29 – Fictional)

Krillin is one to definitely pack a punch! He is an incredible fighter that grew up with his childhood friend, Goku. Okay, yeah he didn’t do much of the growing part BUT that does not change the fact that he is a mighty martial artist!

Not to mention, he is a complete human AND he can join in battles on leagues way above him! He still gets overpowered on the field when faced with Saiyans but being able to stand on that field is what still makes him a frightening foe.

 

NOVEMBER

 

Chi-Chi (November 5)

Make way for her highness, the princess of Fire Mountain herself, Chi-chi! She is the beautiful daughter of the Ox-King. Even though that sounds like a scary and intimidating dad, she stayed very shy all throughout her childhood. 

She grew up to have a fierce and ferocious personality that has a lot of tough love for her husband, Goku, and her children, Gohan and Goten. Chi-chi is still one of the strongest women and can hold her ground when necessary. It is always nice to see a powerful princess! 

 

Trunks (November – Age 766)

As Vegeta’s firstborn and only son, Trunks has proven to be quite a fearsome fighter. It is not very surprising that he is also pretty smug and mischievous since his dad is..well Vegeta. This little half-Saiyan half-human was born around November. 

He spends a lot of time with his best bro, Goten. They sure have Goten (gotten? HAHA) in a lot of trouble together too. There is nothing like the bond between these two best friends.  

 

DECEMBER

 

Bulla (December – Age 780)

Bulla is a spitting image of her mother, Bulma. It is pretty cute, to be honest. She is a half Saiyan and half human Earthling because of her parents, Vegeta and Bulma. She is the youngest and the only daughter of the two. 

Her close friends include Pan and Marron. It is so nice to see all the fighters’ daughters going out and having fun together. She also has a very lively personality that loves shopping. 

We do not know which date she was born exactly but it is stated that she was born in December in Age 780. 

 

CONCLUSION 

There are so many characters in Dragon Ball that it is hard to keep track of. I hope you enjoyed this list of their Saiyans, humans, shape-shifters, and everything else in between!
