Bleach is one of the fathers of all the new anime. It was released back in the 2000s. Fans ultimately fell in love with this banger anime. With its unique character abilities, action, and slice of life theme, it won the hearts of many otakus. We all love a hot-headed MC, right?
Bleach tells us the story of an angry teenager who’s living the destiny of his parents. Now, if you haven’t watched Bleach, you have no idea what I am talking about. But worry not, we’ll clarify everything in a moment!

PLOT
Coming to the plot of this banger anime, let’s talk about what happens! Bleach revolves around our bad-tempered MC aka Kurosaki Ichigo who took over his parents’ destiny. How? Well, he got the powers of a Soul Reaper that is quite similar to Grim Reapers. He also got to know another Soul Reaper like him who is Rukia Kuchiki.
These brand-new powers forced him to take over the duties of defending humans from various evil spirits and also the generic duty of grim reapers, to depart the soul that has left the human body. Our boy sure has it hard, right? Anyways, Kurosaki Ichigo has the ability to see ghosts lingering around his neighborhood and this talent made him come across the spirit named Rukia Kuchiki. She entered the room of Ichigo in order to find a lost spirit.
Now, these lost spirits are very dangerous and they are known as “Hollows”. These types of spirits can cause harm to humans as well as other ghosts. Things keep on getting worse when the Hollow spirit tries to attack Ichigo. Rukia tries her best to save him but she gets hurt. While she recovers, she transfers some of her powers to Ichigo so that he can fight in her place.
As a result, Rukia is in the ordinary human body while our boy came up with powers. Rukia advises him about many things regarding the power that he possesses. She also says that he must keep a balance between his high school life and Soul Reaper duties. For hunting down the Hollow Spirits, Ichigo along with Rukia decide to join two teenagers with spiritual affinities aka Orihime Inoue who’s the classmate of Ichigo and Yasutora Sado. These are the humans who can literally control spirit particles. Isn’t that cool?
On the other hand, Rukia gets arrested by the senior Soul Reapers. They get mad at her for transferring her powers to an ordinary human being. That’s how she was sentenced to death. OOF! It’s time for our MC to take action. He decides to get the help of Kisuke Urahara who’s known as a scientist in the Soul Society. He enabled Ichigo to look across his own powers and take them to the Soul Society in order to help Rukia.
When they arrive at the Soul Society, a conflict takes place and the 13th Captain aka Sosuke Aizen gets killed. The people of the Soul Society believe that Ichigo and his friends are responsible for this. Due to that, a fighth starts. They all start fighting with one another. Pretty chaotic, right? After some time, Ichigo succeeds in helping Rukia escape. Meanwhile, Aizen appears and says that he wants to get the crumbling orb. It is known as an Orb of immense power!
At the end, Aizen decides to leave for the Hollow dimension along with his friends. Ichigo finds his friends quickly starting a fight with Aizen’s army. They are also joined by various Vizards. One of the Espadas ends up kidnapping Orihime which makes Ichigo and his allies enter Aizen’s palace.
It turns out that this was all a plan of Aizen to distract them so that he could kill the Soul King. OOF! Goosebumps! After a lot of chaos, Ichigo succeeds in defeating Aizen and reverts back to a normal human being.
After some months, Ichigo Kurosaki prepares for his life after completing high school. A gang of Fullbringers who are chad-like humans, manipulate our boy and his loved ones. So, Ichigo got his powers back from the Soul Society but it wasn’t given to him fully. That’s when Soul Society’s badge does its job. It monitors and restricts Soul Society’s power. Well, our boy did get betrayed by the Fullbringers’ gang leader aka Gingo. But Ichigo ended up killing him and that’s how he became the Substitute Soul Reaper.
Ichigo successfully gained his powers back and an army known as the Wandenreich appears and says that they want to battle with the Soul Society. This army already has so many enslaved Arrancars (a group of hollows). The Wandenreich is controlled by Yhwach who has a goal of killing the Soul King. This army has killed a lot of Soul Reapers and they just want to finish the “Fear of Death”. After some time, Ichigo along with his friends decide to help the Soul Society during the second invasion of the Wandenreich.
Yhwach was strongly stuck with his goal of killing the Soul King and absorbing it. During their final battle, Ichigo, with the help of Aizen, Renji, and Uryu kills the leader of the Wandenreich. WOOHOO!
After ten whole years, Rukia becomes the new captain of the 13th company and apparently, she has a daughter too! But let me stop here, no more spoilers for you guys! So, if you liked the plot of Bleach, make sure to watch it! I’m sure you’re gonna love this anime!
MAIN CHARACTERS
After going through the plot, it’s great to skim through the characters of the anime. So, let’s find out a bit more about some of our main characters in Bleach!
Kurosaki Ichigo
Kurosaki Ichigo is the main character in Bleach, he’s a short–tempered teenager who’s known to have a warm side. He’s a Soul Reaper who never really gives up. He tries his best to stay strong during battles. Ichigo is rather strong-willed, and honestly, his rage tends to help during different situations! Ichigo is an overpowered swordsman.
Orihime Inoue
Now, we have the love interest of our MC aka Orihime Inoue. She’s the classmate of Ichigo who’s quite cute and bubbly. She’s super naive and sometimes fails to read the atmosphere but these things make her one of the cutest characters in the anime. She’s friendly, kind, and understanding. It’s okay for cute people to be dumb though, or should I say that being dumb makes you look cute. Take notes guys!
Rukia Kuchiki
Next off, we have Rukia Kuchiki who gives off very dark, gothic vibes. She’s a quiet and calm individual who wants nothing but the best for Ichigo. She’s self-sufficient and doesn’t like opening up to anyone. She wants to get everything done by herself without getting any help. Rukia gives off a cool warrior vibe. Isn’t that right? I’m sure you guys considered her as one of your waifus in the world of anime!
Kisuke Urahara
Now, he is one of my favorite characters. He’s the mad scientist who helps Ichigo, Rukia, and other spiritual beings. He’s very chill and optimistic. He might look strange but trust me this man is LOCO! He’s quite cunning and might know every single move you make in your head.
