Wind Breaker is a manhwa that I can’t even recommend enough. The guy who wrote it put so much care and so many emotions in his work that it can be felt in every sentence.

Many of us fell in love with the story and thank god this Webtoon is super long and yet we keep wanting more. We are greedy people after all.

You can imagine how hard it is to find some Korean Comics that are worthy to be compared to this masterpiece.

I managed to do it and here I present to you a list of Manhwa Similar to Wind Breaker.

If you want a piece of inferiority complex here you have it, but, to be honest, it’s coming out in a nice way.

Girls have always been considered lesser than the male population to a really annoying point, so here you have a revolt.

So-jin and Shin-bee are two soccer players, very talented and very brave. Why brave you ask? Well, they have a dream, a beautiful one, to become the best players around the globe and not just among the girls.

Extremely competitive they will challenge anyone they consider a worthy opponent and they have a knack for destroying boys on the court. The feeling of satisfaction can’t be described, it’s ecstasy.

Aside from the sports aspect, the equality displayed in Wind Breaker and Angel Cup is really refreshing since we tend to forget that even now, women are discriminated against for being themselves.

 

11. Attaque

This manhwa is about kids playing fencers with their plastic swords while fantasizing about becoming some great noble warriors.

Just kidding, that story is much deeper than that. So let’s get back to business. Lisu was one of the best fencers of his generation. He was on the road to fame when a terrible accident crushed all his dreams.

Now handicapped, his career should’ve been over, however, Lisu wasn’t ready to let go of his sword just yet. He was a mere shell of his former self. A broken shell that is trying to put back the pieces together.

An inspiring journey filled with unwavering determination, strength, courage, and pain. Would you be able to restart from square one after struggling this much to get where you were? I certainly couldn’t.

You will experience the same rush of emotions you felt in Wind Breaker. Let’s try to turn into decent human beings like them, what do you say?

 

10. Lookism

Wind Breaker is all about change and new beginnings, the discovery of a whole new world that you didn’t even know existed. It’s not all about sports and camaraderie, it’s a concept on its own.

Jay fell in love with the biking world while the MC of Lookism, Daniel, well… he fell in love with popularity and strength.

The guy was fat and horrid, the perfect toy for all the bullies in his school, and then BAM! From one day to another, a miracle happened.

The ugly weakling gave the floor to a gorgeous man. He was now tall and fit with the aura of a cool and mysterious devilish soul that can melt you with one look.

Unrecognizable, he became the talk of the school. Just who is that smoking hot student? He better make sure to never reveal his true identity if he doesn’t want to go back to square one.

Oh, and one more thing is in terms of art, both those manhwas have a really unique drawing style. You will either adore it or hate it, there is no middle ground. Sorry, not sorry about that.

 

9. Green Boy: Shouting To You

Don’t worry I didn’t include some kind of weird story about some green aliens or anything, however, I also still don’t know why they called that Manhwa that way, but who cares, right?

Jae-in is aiming high, so high, she is aiming for the title of champion. She is inexorable, she is passionate, and that’s all she cares about.

You can imagine how difficult it must be for the poor boy who is head over heels for her but can’t get her to even look his way.

Or, most probably, she’s just too oblivious to realize he has romantic feelings for her, all she has is boxing in her brain after all.

When talking about focus and seriousness, Jay and Jae-in would really make a great pair don’t you think?

 

8. The Fighting Monster

All those boys with no brains and all brawls are getting better and better. We won’t see the end of them anytime soon. At least we have some plot twist with some Isekai incorporation.

Taekwon has a dream, to become a world-renowned fighter. Oh yeah, he doesn’t go to another world to become strong, he was actually strong from the beginning and was thrown into another world where he lost everything.

Then he thought to himself, being number one in the real world or this one, in the end, it’s all the same as long as he can have a good fight along the way. So slight change of plans, I mean the plan is still the same, it’s more like a change of location.

For the similarity with Wind Breaker, I won’t beat around the bush. The personalities of the two MCs are practically the same. Read and come tell me that I’m right.

 

7. The Boxer

This is not your typical boxing Webtoon. Let me repeat that, THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL BOXING WEBTOON. The MC is a boxer, don’t get me wrong, it’s how he became cool.

He was just a depressing kid with a nice talent for evading punches, and the perfect ability to get away from bullies.

He caught the eyes of a coach who insisted on him training and POOF! Just like in a Cinderella story the weakling transformed into an unbeatable boxer.

Now guess why he is struggling. He can’t find any worthy rivals anymore. At least he stayed “humble” after his transformation.

Well, our overconfident MC can rest assured, there is always, always someone stronger than you roaming somewhere in this world.

You will find Yu, sorry, forgot to give you his name before, so you will find Yu’s passion for sport to be very matching with Jay’s enthusiasm and burning soul, they are quite alike.

 

6. Love All (Oh Jun KWON)

Okay now, don’t say it’s boring, Ping Pong is a great sport, okay? Really exciting if you give it a chance. I think I’m trying to convince myself here.

Anyway, even if the sports are not the best, I mean biking isn’t that blood pumping either, this Manhwa is a great one.

The story revolves around Trent and his table tennis team, since when do you need a team for that game?

So yeah, he and his team are super passionate about Ping Pong and are aiming for the title of number one. They will face many struggles along the way and the most difficult one to overcome is their personal differences and their different level of strength.

To not put it nicely, a certain someone will be dragging them down.

 

5. No Breathing

Y’all know the guys from Free!, right? Here is the Korean version of them. Lots of swimming, lots of abs, and fun.

This manhwa is all about sports, if you didn’t get it yet, it’s about swimming specifically, three main characters on the deck. One is on his way to becoming champion, another is a prodigy and is making a comeback, and the last one is a beginner.

Their little rivalry will get quite amusing along the way but the best thing will be the drama that will come out of the love triangle.

They just had to all fall for the same beautiful girl. There are plenty of fish in the sea guys and that proverb doesn’t just apply to girls you know.

As for a similarity with Wind Breaker, the Manhwa has the same vibe if you get what it means, if you don’t, you can try and figure it out yourself…was that too mean? I was trying to be funny…

 

4. Rim Ding Dong

We had the Korean Version of Free! before, now we have the Korean version of Hinata from Haikyuu.

So the MC is a basketball player, you know I’m gonna size shame him right now, right? Sorry, I have to, people. The guy is a Chibi, a shrimp and that’s okay because well… I’m short too, you know?

He was on the school’s team and everything was going okay, he was following his passion but his whole take on basketball changed when he met the new member of the team. It’s turning a bit into Kuroko no Basket now.

 

3. Shine Star

First of all, you must praise me for finding so many manhwas with that much sports variety. So here we have Track and Field activities, and personally that one really made me angry, but I just can’t deny that it’s good.

So Kim Shine is the best track athlete in the school, he just shines on the field and that’s not just because of the sweat.

He worked his butt off to get where he is today and out of nowhere, a girl barges in, she’s a track genius it seems.

She wants him to fall for her and gets the weird belief that if she manages to run faster than him he will have to look at her even if it’s just her back.

So while our boy is training, to achieve his goals the girl is stuffing her face and she’s still slim, she’s still fast and the world is just unfair.

 

2. Double Click

So apparently gaming is a sport now. They say it’s good for the fingers. So our MC, Jiho Seong, was a pro gamer in the game One Sword, he was the best actually and that was literally the only thing he was good at, like many other Geeks for that matter.

So the game shut down and he lost interest in his career, if it’s not One Sword then it’s nothing. The traitor ends up settling for a copy of the game and now he’s back at it and even managed to build himself a team.

Teams are nice aren’t they? But as much as Jiho Seong’s team is great, Jay’s team’s nicer.

David Suh had a promising career ahead of him. He was considered a basketball genius and now guess where he managed to end up? In a convenience store, as an employee, what did you think, that I was gonna say NBA?

One day, a friend paid him a visit asking him to become the coach of a basketball team. He thought that this was it, it was time to make a great comeback as the coach of some awesome team.

That’s what he thought before seeing the team with his own eyes. How can I put this? They were just pitifully heartbreaking.

He wasn’t gonna bother them until the team’s ace convinced him to stay and the end result of determined kids and a coach that knows what he is doing was just mind-blowing.

As mind-blowing as Jay changing paths and getting into biking.

 

Conclusion

That’s it for the recommendation list about 12 Manhwa Like Wind Breaker. So on board, we had Basketball player Jay, many boxers Jay, T&F Jay, and some others.

Each of the manhwa has the power to touch your heart, thanks to specific emotions and feelings that all of it wants to trigger inside of you, but the one that will touch us the most is and always will be Wind Breaker.
