Soooo, I’ll be talking about Shounen Manhwa on this list. I know you all love shounen. I mean, who doesn’t? We all have grown up watching Naruto, Dragon Ball, and One Piece. These three are known as the big three of the shounen world.  

These days, the genre of shounen is not just limited to Japanese manga. South Korean artists are also doing an amazing job. We have seen some great shounen manhwa in recent years like Solo Leveling, God of Highschool, and Tower of God etc. Some of them even got adapted into anime. 

In case you have been living under a rock, manhwa is the name given to South Korean colored manga. Some peeps just ignore them. But I must say, they are missing out a lot. I won’t let you make this mistake. I must explain one thing first hand. The shounen genre can be coupled with any other genre.

But anyways, let’s just start the list.

 This manhwa correctly portrays the power of hard work and determination.

The main premise of this manhwa revolves around Hyun Lee. Hyun lives with his grandparents and is very poor. One day, he decides to enter a game named Royal Road. You can basically earn money in this game.

But, his bad luck followed him even inside the game. He was a measly sculptor in it. Sculptors make very little money. Now what? Well! He decides to work day and night to grind levels and earn money. Do you guys think he will succeed? I’m sure he will and maybe there’s even a surprise waiting for him.

 

30- Legend of the Northern Blade

Continuing the list, we have the Legend of the Northern Blade next. 

The plot revolves around Jin Mu-Woon. Jin’s father was the leader of the Northern Heavenly Sect. This sect was created to protect people. However, after some time, people started to fear them and his father was eventually killed.

Jin was the last surviving member. However, he hadn’t learnt martial arts. But, he is the MC, something has to happen! Well! He was able to discover the secret scroll hidden by his father. With this scroll, he decided to learn martial arts and take his revenge.

 

29- Divine Bells

Ahhhh! The plot of this webtoon is really something else. You just can’t guess what’s coming your way.

Hong Ryeong is the protagonist of this amazing manhwa. First, I’ll tell you about world-building. The world in which our MC lives also hosts some mysterious beings named Divine Bells. These Divine Bells choose their master themselves. These masters are usually the members of the royal families, and their presence makes a huge difference.

Now, this is where the fun begins. Our MC, despite being a royal, is devoid of the power of any Divine Bell. There are a lot of mysteries in this manhwa. You will find the answers only if you read it tho lol!

 

28- Chronicles of Heavenly Demon

Chronicles of Heavenly Demon is the next manhwa that has managed to make this list. 

Martial artist Hyuk Woon Seo is the MC of this manhwa. Hyuk and his master were killed by the members of the Orthodox Sec. Why? Well! They were framed for the use of demonic arts. 

You really thought the MC would die soo easily? Duh! Hyuk was reincarnated as a member of the demonic cult. This reincarnation gave him the chance to take his revenge. He has just one thing on his mind, and that is REVENGE!!!

We all have seen manhwa with reincarnation. But, have you seen a manhwa with the concept of double reincarnation? Well! There are some and The Descent of the Demonic Master is one of them.

This amazing manhwa follows the tale of a teenager named Jinho Kang who had lost his family in a car crash. He even lost his ability to walk. However, he was suddenly reincarnated into another world. In that world, he was the demonic master, Crimson Emperor.

And guess what? Some strange event forced him to reincarnate back into the modern world with all his powers. Now, he just wants a normal life. However, he later discovers that this world is also full of monsters and he has to stop them. Can he do it? I mean, he is THE CRIMSON EMPEROR!

Veritas is another underrated manhwa on this list.

The plot of manhwa features the story of Ma Garyong. Ma is thought to be the strongest middle schooler. No one could defeat him. However, one day he meets a mysterious man who defeats him pretty easily. 

Garyong followed him to become his student. After one year of rigorous training, he became even stronger. After his master’s death, he decided to take his place and find students with mysterious abilities in other schools.

Volcanic Age is another manhwa about reincarnation. 

The MC of this manhwa led his entire life in regrets and failure. Even though he was the leader of his sect. He had survived through countless bloody wars. Now, he just wants a peaceful death.

But wait! He is the MC. As he is about to die, he gets reincarnated into the past. This time around, he decided to not repeat his mistakes and live a life without regrets. 

This manhwa has a very important message. You gotta live your life without regrets. It doesn’t matter how successful you are. If you are not satisfied, then it means nothing.

 

24- Glacias

 Glacias is another pretty amazing manhwa on this list. It has a very important message for humans. 

A teenager named Juka and his dragon friend named Lyth are the main characters of this manhwa. The world in which Juka lives is full of dragons, however, they cannot live with humans as they fear them. 

Juka has only one purpose in life. He wants to teach humans that dragons and humans can coexist. They just gotta give each other some time and try to understand. Will he succeed? 

The important message here is that if we try to understand each other, we can solve many problems.

 

23- Black Haze

The plot of this manhwa is pretty simple. It follows the story of a magic-user named Rood.

Rood was considered very weak as he failed a very important mission. He was even doubtful of his own powers. The ministry decided to send him to a magic school named Helios. To study? No, bruh! He was sent there to protect someone.

That person was also pretty weak like Rood. He was even bullied. MAN! They are way too similar! 

Now, the main question here is, can Rood protect him? Well! He will remind him of himself. He should be able to understand him, right?

Troll Trap has one of the most unique plots. I really love the concept behind it.

Two best friends, Ha-Te and Ji-Hyun, are the protagonists of this manhwa. Both of them live in a world where humans suddenly turn into trolls. Ha-Te’s younger brother turned into one and he was forced to kill his own little brother. That is just too cruel!

After this, he became a troll hunter in order to save humanity from these trolls. However, he often ponders that trolls were once humans as well. How can he kill them? Isn’t there any other way to save them? 

 

21- Kill The Hero

This webtoon is one of my personal favorites. I really love the character progression in this one.

First, I’ll tell you about world-building. The world in which the MC lives is full of monsters and dungeons. Well! These dungeons appeared out of nowhere, and to fight them some humans gained supernatural abilities. 

One human named Se-Jun Lee was one of the strongest. He was termed the HERO who would save the world. However, he was not a hero. He just wanted to rule the world. Our MC realized it, but it was too late. Se-Jun killed him. But, he is the MC, so he got reincarnated back in time. Now, he can save the world from Se-Jun Lee.

There are just soo many amazing manhwa. It becomes really difficult to choose from.

Jay is the protagonist of this amazing manhwa. He is not your ordinary teenager who starts unnecessary fights or shenanigans, he is the student council president of his school. To top it all off, he is also pretty good at academics and sports—an expert cyclist, at that!

The manhwa basically follows the life story of Jay as he experiences many things. You will see his first love, failure, and success. 

You can’t call this manhwa your typical shounen. Still, it has some great action scenes.

 

19- Tomb Raider King

The MC of this korean comic is pretty cool. I’ll explain the world-building of this manhwa. The world in which the MC lives is full of mysterious tombs. Humans try to clear these tombs and get rare relics. These relics have some strange powers as well which allows them to rule over the weak people.

However, our MC chooses the easy path. He decides to rob the relic owners of their relics, making them their own. Of course he raids the tombs as well. That’s why he is known as the Tomb Raider King. 

The art style is pretty amazing. I’m 100 percent sure that you’ll enjoy this manhwa.

 

18- The Gamer

I’ll tell you a thing about myself, I’m a huge fan of unique manga/manhwa, and this manhwa falls right into that category. This manhwa is what you can call a “Reverse Isekai”.

The MC of this manhwa is a huge fan of gaming. He just wants to play games all day. However, his life takes a 180-degree turn when he starts seeing stats over everyone’s heads, and daily tasks like going to the market were considered quests, lol!

He was really surprised and happy as well. This is where the fun part begins. Soon, he discovers that there are monsters in this world as well and he has to defeat them. What’s more? There are other people with similar powers, lol!

 

17- The Breaker: New Waves

The Breaker:New Waves is the next manhwa on this list. The title is a bit weird lol!

This manhwa is about a teenager named Shioon. Shi is considered pretty weak in his school and is bullied a lot. He was bullied to the extent that he wanted to end his life. However, he still has hope. 

His new teacher, Chun Woo, is his last hope. How? Chun Woo is an expert martial artist. However, he doesn’t want to train Shioon. Why? Well! I won’t tell you everything. You gotta give it a read.

Most peeps here must’ve dreamed that they were inside a novel, right? The MC of this manhwa was lucky enough to have this experience.

However, I must say that his experience isn’t that pleasant. Why? Well! He wasn’t the main character. He was a side character and the real MC is supposed to defeat him lol!

What can he do in this situation? He is the MC, something has to happen in his favor, right? I’m pretty sure he will manage somehow. Aren’t you curious? So, go and binge the manhwa.

 

15- Dark Sea Era

The Dark Sea Era mainly focuses on the mystery aspect of things. Still, there is plenty of action in this manhwa.

Firstly, I’ll tell you a bit about the world. The world in which our MC lives is on the verge of destruction. There are zombies everywhere. There is no hope. However, the MC of this show has a secret power.

He is accompanied by a Goddess. No one can see her. Now, the main thing here is, will he be able to stop this catastrophe with the Goddess’ help? Having a literal Goddess by your side is pretty amazing in my opinion.

 

14- A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special

As I’ve already explained, the shounen genre can be coupled with any other genre. For example, the author has coupled shounen and isekai in this manhwa.

Desir Arman is the MC of this manhwa. Humanity is completely exterminated by a strange event. Only six humans are left and Desir is one of them. Desir and his friends try to at least save themselves. However, they fail!

As Desir thought he would die, he was instead reincarnated 13 years back in time. Now, he has another shot to save his friends and humanity.

Memorize follows the amazing story of Soohyun. Soohyun was leading a normal life until he was summoned into another world by some mysterious angelic beings. This new world was like a game. 

Living in this new world, Soohyun decides to reach the Apex. After 10 years, he finally reaches the Apex. However, he lost everything in the way. Now, he decides to use the power of the Code Zero to basically reverse time. 

These time travel manhwa are surely getting popular these days lol!

 

12- Leveling with the Gods

Leveling with the Gods is another stunning manhwa that has managed to make this list. 

The plot of this webtoon revolves around Kim Yu Won. Kim is one of the strongest warriors on the planet. He thought that no one could defeat him. However, he was utterly beaten by someone. Well! This is a manhwa, so he was given another chance. 

But, this chance was given at the expense of his comrades’ lives. Now, he has to make sure that he becomes the strongest and take his revenge. Will he be able to do it? I’m pretty sure he can. 

We usually see MCs like Kim. And most of them are pretty OP.

 

11- Hulejasig

Ahhh! This manhwa is one of my favorites. It can get a little violent. But, I guess it’s okayyyy since the shounen genre is usually full of violence.

Jin is the name of the protagonist of this manhwa. Jin has experienced everything in his life except happiness. He received an artificial heart and eye at a very young age. He was bullied at his school.

And guess what? His father is a serial killer who likes to kill women. Jin was forced to become his father’s crime partner. Now, the main question here is, can he stop his father from doing all this? Well! It doesn’t seem that easy.

Tower of God is one of the most popular manhwas out there. It is one of the few manhwa besides God of Highschool and Noblesse to get an anime adaptation.

Bam is the MC of this manhwa. I’ll tell you a bit about world-building. As you can see from the title, the manhwa is based around a Tower known as the Tower of God. People from all around the world attempt to climb this tower. However, they are chosen by the tower itself. 

But, there are also people known as irregulars who can climb the tower of their own free will. Bam is one of these irregulars. However, Bam has only one mission. He wants to find his childhood friend, Rachel. Do you think he can find her?

 

9- Peerless Dad

This Korean webtoon is the perfect example of unrequited love. It follows the tale of a dad, a hero, and a true martial artist, Noh Ga Jang.

Noh was considered one of the strongest martial artists until he fell in love and had children. His wife died during childbirth. Now, he had to raise his children and work as well. What will he do now?

Well! This marks the beginning of Noh’s adventure as an amazing DAD. Even though he was sad and depressed, he still decided to become an exemplary dad by raising his children all alone. 

This manhwa is just too good. You should definitely give it a try.

The MC of this show is a vampire named Rai. Rai has been sleeping for 820 years. After his awakening, he decides to learn the ways of the new world by studying in a school. 

He was enjoying a peaceful life. But, his peace is interrupted by a group named Union. What do they want? Well! For that, you’ll have to go through the manhwa. I won’t spoil everything for ya, duh!

Another stunning manhwa on this list is The Devil’s Boy. I really like the plot of this one. Jungho is your ordinary boy with no special powers. He is just too weak. He is bullied to the point that he wants to commit suicide.

However, he is given a chance by a devil named Mephistopheles. The devil gave him magical powers so that he can get his revenge. Now, this is where the fun part begins. Soo after taking his revenge, Jungho realizes that he was just being used. He is just a pawn in a huge game of devils. 

What will he do now?

Another pretty interesting manhwa on this list. I think I’ve already told you that I am a huge fan of unique manga/manhwa. This manhwa also falls into that category.

The main plot of this manhwa revolves around S-Class skills. The world in which the MC lives is a magical world. Our MC is pretty strong, however, not to the level of an S-Class.

Now, he wants an S-Class skill. Eventually, his wish was granted. However, he has to die for it. WHAT? What’s the use of the skill if he is dead? Well! The answer lies in the manhwa.

 

5- Mercenary Enrollment

He has to deal with new difficulties and new people. Being a ruthless killer, it will be really difficult for him to manage the life of a student.

The plot of this manhwa is kinda similar to Tower of God. Except for the fact that the person whom the MC is searching for is dead. 

Yeonwoo receives a watch, and that watch basically tells him everything that really happened to his brother. His brother was betrayed as he tried to climb the Tower of the Sun God. Hence, Yeonwoo decided to use the knowledge his brother left behind to take revenge.

 The beginning after the end is another popular manhwa on this list. The plot of this manhwa features the story of King Grey. He lives in a world of martial arts and swords. In this world, he has everything. However, he was full of guilt. According to him, he was leading a boring life. 

But, everything changes as he gets reincarnated into a world of magic after his death. This gave him a chance to live his life according to his will. He just wants to live a normal life with his new family but fate has other plans.

Can he become the greatest in this world as well? I’m sure you are curious. The art style is pretty amazing as well.

Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint is one of the most popular manhwa out there. This manhwa follows the story of a guy named Dokja.

Dokja used to read a web novel named “Three Ways To Survive An Apocalypse”. He was the only reader and the only person who knows its ending. Now, this is where the fun part begins. One day, this web novel becomes the reality and only Dokja knows the ending.

He is the PROTAGONIST!!! He knows everything about this novel. But, there are some difficulties. Welp, of course, conflicts are what makes a story good, right? 

Oh and can we talk about the art style? Because it’s ✨exquisite✨  I’m sure you’ll love it.

This manhwa is my all-time favorite. It follows the story of a teenager named Jin-Woo. Jin Woo lives in a world full of mysterious gates and monsters. And of course, there are humans to counter them. 

These humans are called hunters… Well, Jinwoo is also a hunter, however, he is recognized as the weakest. But, that’s just the intro. Everything changes as some mysterious events give him the ability to level up despite being a hunter. 

There is a deeper meaning to all this as well. But, I won’t spoil everything for y’all. The art style is just too good. It feels like the panels are moving lol!

Sooo, here is the list guys. All of the manhwa on this list are pretty amazing in my opinion. I’ve based the rankings on my personal taste, soo some of y’all might not like it.
