What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word “MAPPA”? STUNNING ANIMATION, right? It’s an undeniable fact that MAPPA Studio has graced us with some of the most beautiful looking anime over the years.

Masao Maruyama is truly a legend. There’s magic in his fingers! From Attack on Titan to Hajime no Ippo, we’ve seen some of the most fluid animations. Today, we’ll be telling you about some of the best anime animated by MAPPA Studio. I’m sure you guys are excited about this one. Let’s go!

23. Teekyu

Teekyu was released back in 2012. It tells us the story of four schoolgirls and their everyday silliness. Introducing Kanae Shinjou, she’s the one who instantly gets bored. Then we have Nasuno Takamiya who thinks money grows on trees (she’s extremely rich).While Marimo Bandou is just plain crazy. 

The only normal girl in their group is Yuri Oshimoto, their junior. She’s also a member of the school’s tennis club. All the four girls are interested in tennis but everyone other than Yuri is more interested in just messing around.

While Yuri is younger than the other three, she acts more mature than anyone else in the group. She has to control the other three so they don’t get in trouble. 

 

22. Punch Line

Punch Line introduces us to Yuuta Iridatsu whose bus got hijacked. He was able to escape the hijacked bus with the help of a superhero named Strange Juice. Now, what’s really weird is that Yuuta finds his soul outside his body. His soul is also in the hands of a cat spirit named Chiranosuke. Yuuta keeps wandering around his house. He’s also observing other people. 

While doing that, he accidentally looks at a girl’s undergarments. Chiranosuke reveals to Yuuta that if he catches the glimpse of more undergarments, he will get stronger. But that will come with a price. Because of his power, an asteroid will fall on the surface of Earth. That asteroid will destroy the whole world.

Now, Yuuta must abstain from looking at undergarments in order to keep the world safe.

This anime introduces us to a post-apocalyptic world where the Earth is constantly under threat by monsters who are known as the “Earless”. There are only a few who can go against the Earless, the Players. Enter Echo Rec who had always dreamed of joining the Players. 

He dreams of piloting a mecha of his own in order to defeat the Earless. However, it’s not easy joining them. One day, he meets a strange girl named Myuu (μ). Myuu has no memory of her past and what’s strange is that she has an audio input jack in her body. Together, both of them try their best to gain some fame and let their voices reach people. 

 

20. To The Abandoned Sacred Beasts

There is a war named the Patrian Civil War going on between the Northern and Southern forces. The Northern forces created half-human, half-beast soldiers in order to overpower the Southern forces. The soldiers named Incarnates easily defeated their enemy forces.

However, some of the Incarnates started getting aware of the things they had to face during the war.

Such Incarnates were to be exterminated by Hank Henriette, the Special Sergeant Major. Nancy Schaal Bancroft witnessed the murder of her father who was an Incarnate.

She decided to hunt down that man who murdered her father and take her revenge on him. However, she soon realizes why it’s necessary to kill the Incarnates as she comes across the beast hunter, Hank Henriette. 

 

19. Garo: Crimson Moon

“Horrors”, the monsters who have come out from the gates of the Makai Realm of Darkness, have taken over the world. The monsters can take over the bodies of humans and eat up their souls, devoiding them of everything.

They’re not going to leave anyone who appears before them after sunset. Luckily, the people living in the capital city are safe from this threat. They are protected by the spiritual field created by a group of sorcerers named Onmyouji.

We see a hero rising who claims to protect everyone from the monsters. He’s a golden knight named Raikou. His group includes Kintoki and an Alchemist named Seimei. However, he’s not as strong and capable as he thinks.

This makes him question his worth. That’s when he decides to go on a journey to discover himself and to make himself strong enough to combat the monsters. 

 

18. The Gymnastic Samurai

The Gymnastic Samurai tells us the story of Joutaro Aragaki who devoted his whole life to Gymnastics. He had been doing gymnastics ever since he was a little child. When he was at the peak of his career, he suffered from a shoulder injury. Another loss that he had to go through was his wife’s death.

He didn’t stop doing Gymnastics despite everything. Five years have passed, and he’s still pushing himself and is now a member of the Japanese Gymnastics team. His body is not listening to him now and his skills started fading. Joutaro’s coach suggests that he look for another career path because he won’t be doing any better here no matter how much he tries.

Joutaro has an adorable nine-year-old daughter who’s very precious to him. He wants to break the news to her when he takes her to Ego Wonderland. There, they come across a ninja named Leonardo. He follows both of them everywhere and stops Joutaro from telling his daughter the news of his retirement.

The reason why Leonardo is stopping him is that he wants to see Jotaro do Gymnastics again and never give up on it. Joutaro decides to not retire and pushes himself to the end. 

 

17. Rage of Bahamut: Genesis

Rage of Bahamut: Genesis takes us a thousand years back when a dragon named Bahamut had spread fear and chaos upon the land of Mistarcia. It was a land where Gods and Demons lived together with humans. Now, the deities were able to seal Bahamut and they also split the key. That way, Bahamut will remain sealed forever. 

Enter Favaro, a bounty hunter who was going about his life as usual. He was being chased by a fellow bounty hunter, Kaisar Lidfard, who wanted to take his revenge on Favaro. Now, Favaro’s life turns upside down when he meets Amira. Amira has a piece of the key that would be able to unseal Bahamut. The world’s peace might be in danger yet once again.

 

16. Kakegurui

Kakegurui introduces us to the Hyakkau Private Academy where only privileged rich kids can study. It seems to be a normal school in the daytime but by night, the students gamble there. Enter Yumeko Jabami, a beautiful transfer student.

She appears to be a super sweet and completely normal high school girl. Beauty behind her sweet facade is a gambling addict. She’s addicted to the thrill that comes with gambling. And her way of gambling is not a normal one. That’s why she hadn’t lost at gambling ever.

 

15. Dance Dance Danseur

Dance Dance Danseur is an ongoing anime and the latest creation of MAPPA Studio. It tells us the story of Junpei who was fascinated by ballet when he was a young boy. However, after the death of his father, Junpei gave up on ballet dancing.

His love for ballet reignites again when a girl named Godai Miyako and her cousin urge him to do ballet again. That’s when he started dancing again and vowed to become the world’s best dancer.

 

14. The Idaten Deities Only Know Peace

The world was going to be destroyed because of certain demons and that’s when the Gods appeared out of nowhere. They were known as Itaden and 800 years ago, they sealed away quite a lot of demons. However, now that the demons are rising again, it is the duty of the gods to fight back. There is going to be a battle between the two and the humans are going to witness it.

Re-Main tells us the story of Minato who used to be a member of the water polo team at his school. After getting into an accident and losing his memories, Minato stopped playing water polo as he had no memory of it.

However, a few boys from his school urged him to join a new water polo team as they had witnessed him playing like a legend before the accident. Minato agrees reluctantly and that’s how his love for water polo ignites again.

The God of High School is one of those anime animated by MAPPA Studios that has very impressive animation. Jin Mori is a young man who takes part in a tournament to determine the best fighter in South Korea. However, the tournament holds a secret that nobody knows.

Along with Yoo Mira and Han Daewi, Jin Mori must get to the top in order to know the mystery behind the tournament.

 

9. Hell’s Paradise (Upcoming)

Hell’s Paradise tells us the story of Gabimaru from Iwagakure Village who was accused wrongly by his fellow ninja and is now going to be executed. Gabimaru is tired of his life. He accepts death. However, no matter how much they try to kill him, he can’t die.

That’s because something in him tells him to keep living. He actually has a wife to return to. She was the reason why he started to be soft and couldn’t become a capable assassin.

One of the executors named Yamada Asaemon Sagiri offered Gabimaru to join her on a trip to an island to search for the elixir of life. In return, she will forgive Gabimaru and not execute him. However, the island they will be travelling to is not an ordinary one. It is full of mysteries and unknown threats.

Terror in Resonance takes us to an alternate world where Tokyo had been destroyed by a terrorist attack. No one knows about the identity of the members of the terrorist group. Their only hint is a video that is uploaded on the internet.

Even the higher-ups are unable to help with the situation. There are actually two teenage boys who are causing this destruction and no one is able to spot them anywhere.

 

6. Hajime no Ippo

Hajime no Ippo is truly a classic. Even though it’s quite old, we still remember it. It tells us the story of Ippo Makunouchi who is a loner. He doesn’t have any friends and leads a very boring life, helping his mother whenever he has free time. He also gets bullied at school.

One day, he’s getting beaten by a bunch of bullies but is saved by a boxer named Takamura. He gets really impressed and decides to devote himself to boxing. That way, he’ll be able to combat his bullies and no one will be able to call him a loser ever again. 

 

5. Banana Fish

Ash Lynx was raised by a mafia don named Dino Golzine as he was a runaway. When Ash turned 17, he had his own gang. He wanted to investigate “Banana Fish”, the words that his brother, Griffin, said. His investigation is interrupted when Dino’s men spot Ash in his hideout.

He’s at the bar and that’s when he meets Eiji Okumura, a simple and kind photographer. Dino’s men raid the bar and kidnap Eiji. Now, Ash must find a way to rescue Eiji because he had grown fond of him.

The boy was meant to be discarded but he survived. He was found by a medicine man who took him in and gave him prosthetics so he could lead a normal life. The boy has exceptional fighting skills and decides to defeat the demons in order to get back what was once his own. Accompanied by Dororo, a mischievous child, the boy travels the road towards revenge.

Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the best anime animated by MAPPA Studio. Everything from its storyline to the characters screams perfection. The story revolves around Itadori Yuuji who was a part of the Occult club at his school.

One day, he comes across a cursed object and accidentally swallows it. That’s when he gets involved with cursed spirits and groups up with the people who are supposed to be destroying those spirits called Jujutsu Sorcerers.

Do we really have to say anything? Attack on Titan is one of those anime by MAPPA Studio that has the most fans. The story introduces us to huge Titans that destroyed the peace more than a century ago. Most of humanity was killed.

The ones who were left created huge walls around their city in order to be protected by the titans. Enter Eren, a young boy who lives an ordinary life. One day, a Colossal Titan appears and that’s when his life turns upside down.
