Travel through far and wide with powerful beings living alongside humans. Pokemon is one of the biggest and greatest media created at the end of the 90s. Because of its unique and well-designed creatures, the element of giving them powers was just another genius idea that paved the way for the whole series to be successful!
But as good as the Pokemon already offers us, surely, humans have to turn the wheels for the story to be told. To get to know the human characters, let’s have a look at the birthdays of all Pokemon characters in-game and anime series! Maybe you can pick something interesting about them and find something in common with them!
BIRTHDAYS OF POKEMON CHARACTERS
January
Selene (January 1st)
Selene is a young lady with an adventurous, bubbly and persistent personality. Her unique trait was to meet new people and learning their languages to greet them right. One time, she saw her Pokemon named Rowlet, and then wondered how Pokemon greet each other too. In Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon games, she’s the female protagonist alongside with his male counterpart, Elio.
Brock (January 27th)
Brock, a former Gym Leader that goes to start his journey as one of Ash’s first companions. He claims his own spotlight in the series because of his supporting role as a cook and a wisdom-mouthing character to support Ash and his team. Although he is always enthralled by the ladies whenever he goes, Brock is that wise friend that is good to be around!
February
Serena (February 2nd)
Serena is an intelligent girl who took a liking to Ash Ketchum when she met him in the same camp in Pallet Town. However, after years have gone by she met Ash once again and Serena grew up to be a tough and compassionate girl who knows herself better than others. She’s our Pokemon trainer that is also on the path of becoming a performer!
Mewtwo (February 6th)
Although Mewtwo is not a human character, he’s still one of the most popular Pokemons out there. Mewtwo is one of the legendary Pokemon in the series; emphasizing his unique ability as a Psychic Pokemon. Yet bearing the same wisdom of humans, Mewtwo questions the existence of the world, himself and its creator. Often spiraling his head out of anger and hate towards humans. And a formidable Pokemon like him is very introverted, he’s really close to being a human.
March
Barry (March 13th)
Barry, alongside Dawn, lived in the Twinleaf Town. He also aspires to be the greatest Pokemon Trainer, as he looks up to Paul, coincidentally Ash’s rival, to practice his methods and training tactics. Barry, with his extremely active personality, soon becomes friends with Ash, Brock, and Dawn.
N (March 14th)
As once the nominal leader of Team Plasma, an antagonistic group in the Unova region, N appears in thePokemon Black and White game.He’s one of the characters that is shown as someone reserved, dark and deceitful; it was mainly because of him growing up with abused Pokemons, N developed a hatred towards humans and was further determined to carry on his mission to protect and save these creatures from humans, nevertheless he changed his decisions as the time goes by.
Lorelei (March 15th)
In the Kanto region, Elite Four was a group composed of four best Pokemon trainers and Lorelei was their leader. Although looking like a serious businesswoman with her outfit, Lorelei is a kind-hearted adult and loves to collect dolls, while she remains professional and self-assured.
James (March 24th)
Although James is one of the members of Team Rocket, he is the most soft-hearted among the three. He’s often the mediator when Jessie and Meowth come up with tricky plans but they always fail in the end. Even if he is the son of a rich family, James also had a family that was neglectful and tried to control him. So when he joins Team Rocket, Giovanni advises the villainous team on what to do, but James and Jessie are too soft.
April
Misty (April 1st)
Misty, one of Ash and Brock’s companions, is a Gym Leader and a Water-type Pokemon expert. Known for her iconic side-ponytail. She first appeared in the series as a little cold and distant, and sometimes showed her soft side towards Pokemons, but nevertheless she respected Ash as a potential trainer. Alongside her tall figure, she is in fact, a swimmer.
Lucas (April 4th)
Lucas from Twinleaf Town is also a young boy who dreams big, a very passionate and ambitious character that also looks out for the well-being of others. He and his best friend aspires to hunt a legendary Pokemon by the lake and it somehow leads him up to conquering the Pokemon League. Lucas always comes off as the bestest friend because of his understanding attitude—speaks a lot of his MBTI, INFJ.
Gary (April 6th)
The grandson of Professor Oak, Gary stands off as a little conceited because of his grandfather’s job in the Pokemon industry. He is one of Ash’s first rivals and beats him into choosing his first Pokemon in the first few seasons of the series. His arrogance continued until he suffered a major loss in the prowess of Mewtwo.
Professor Rowan Oak (April 28th)
He is one of the major supporting characters in the Pokemon Heroes Series. Born in the Sinnoh Region in the Twinleaf Town, Professor Rowan was seen as rough about things but cares deeply about others. He had also once claimed his first Pokemon then challenged his skills in utilizing it. But, due to being a professor, Rowan Oak rarely takes his loss seriously because it also gives him chances to learn and rethink his past actions.
Lyra (April 30th)
As a supporting character both in the series and in-game, Lyra is a sweet and joyful young girl and also appears to be a little silly. Lyra grew up in the New Bark Town with her mother alongside her childhood friend. All in all, Lyra ought to do what she can do—including stopping the Team Rocket in-game.
May
Nate (May 4th)
Now, Nate from the game Pokemon Black 2 and White 2; is another ambitious person. He was a young boy that always took on challenges as they are no matter the level of difficulty. Nate is a hardworking boy. He trained hard and wanted to do his best in defeating a lot of rival trainers to level up his league.
Kellyn (May 11th)
Kellyn is a responsible teen that remains poised, at peace and composed at every journey. But, sometimes, he gets himself into danger.He’s a caring Pokemon Ranger in his own journey and expertise, and especially to Pokemons.
Professor Samuel Oak (May 12th)
Professor Oak resides in Pallet Town, where he works in his Laboratory. He provides his grandson and Ash advice from time to time to help them reach their dreams. He’s also the one in charge of giving beginners a starter Pokemon to start with. All in all, Professor Oak is that one guiding figure to youth in the field of becoming a professional Pokemon Trainer.
Lunick (May 18th)
Lunick in the Pokemon Ranger series is a passionate and sensitive young teen, as he loves helping and saving people from numerous incidents. His whole person and personality first appears in extinguishing a fire that had started to devour a building, all of it adds to his good qualities as a young Pokemon Ranger in the future.
Ash Ketchum (May 22nd)
As the main protagonist of the anime and various in-game versions, we saw Ash as that boy with big dreams, who had great and wonderful potentials as a kid when he had only met Pikachu. Ash is enthusiastic, brave, and always regards others with kindness and sympathy, especially to Pokemons. His admiring personality earns him respect from the other Pokemon trainers such as Dawn, N, and Serena.
Meowth (May 28th)
Born with a Gemini zodiac sign, Meowth uses his extroverted energy to fan the flames of their mischievous plans. Although he’s also not a human character, Meowth as a non-legendary Pokemon who can talk to humans, is definitely needed to be included.
With his other two comrades who were also silly and a little quirky, Meowth is added to the spice of the three-grouped ‘villainy’, as he makes the plans and orders the other two around. But the overall feeling we now have is not of danger whenever these three suddenly make a grand entrance, but childish excitement. Surely, I’m not the only one who feels that?
June
Leaf (June 1st)
Leaf as a Pokemon Trainer is a relief to be friends with, because of her friendly demeanor and calm personality. Leaf is a young girl that does not lose her cool even in fierce battles, although she is seen as easy to get along with, Leaf still stays collected in trying times.
Max (June 12)
May’s younger brother, Max. As a small young boy traveling throughout Hoenn Region, Max is pretty mature and intelligent for his age; looking for information from his surroundings and even surpassing her sister’s knowledge. And yet he’s too young to be a Pokemon Trainer, hence he befriends them instead.
July
Brendan (July 2nd)
Now if you’re looking for a rival in Pokemon, Brendan is the right candidate. As he took his job professionally and respects his opponent by remaining warm and friendly, he is also a humble trainer. A responsible trainer that takes good care of his Pokemon.
Ethan (July 21st)
Ethan is a young boy who resides in New Bark Town for his entire life, he is kind-hearted and an empathetic boy, although having his step-brother becomes his rival; Silver, Ethan still pursued his heart, he is a loving boy to his Pokemons and many other people often gets along with him.
August
Giovanni (August 1st)
As the head of the criminal organization, Team Rocket; Giovanni is the villainous leader, sees Pokemons as a weapon for his own goals, one for a fact is his connection with Mewtwo that reveals all this. He is the very mastermind (and a famous one) in devising secretive plans.
Red (August 8th)
Being the main character of the first Pokemon games, as opposed to a typical main protagonist, Red is a timid individual, rarely smiles and not finding the need to speak at times. But all in all, Red cares deeply about his Pokemons, often a polite boy to people and trainers-alike.
September
Elio (September 11th)
Elio is the same as his twin sister, Selene, an adventurous and inquisitive Pokemon Trainer that strives to protect Pokemons within his own capability. That’s why as an aspiring Pokemon Trainer, he swears his lifetime goal is to protect Pokemons while he continues to develop knowledge in the world of Pokemon.
Solana (September 16th)
In the Pokemon Ranger game, Solana is that one character who you wouldn’t forget about for days. Aside from her likable personality, Solana is a teenage girl who is wise of her companions, fellow Ranger, and Pokemons-alike. She is also entirely aware of humans’ negative intention towards Pokemons and thus expresses her opinions in writing; of which she was also skilled.
Rosa (September 16th)
Rosa is a very eager Pokemon trainer, a teenager from Aspertia City who is remembered because of her cheerful nature. Although she’s seen as a bubbly Pokemon Trainer, Rosa wanted to find opportunities to further enhance her skills, to defeat as many Trainers. Focusing mainly on tactics and strategies to gain the upper hand.
May (September 20th)
May is a female teen and a really humble person when it comes to her rivals. By being Max’s older sister and Caroline’s daughter, May grew up to be an independent, soft-hearted, and cheerful Pokemon trainer, always putting up an amicable smile towards her friends and trainers-alike. They share both personalities in-game and in the series.
October
Jessie (October 2nd)
Jessie, the leader of the Team Rocket, and the leading drama queen to many of their quips and trying wits, however, before becoming the famous magenta-haired member of Team Rocket, Jessie once started to try her hands at many field, mostly on graduating as a Nurse to which she ended up failing it.
But right then as the leader, a stoic and confident lady that always makes way for her other members, even though they are mostly diverting from the original motive of their mission.
Hilda (October 5th)
Hilda as a teenager is rather reserved and stubborn. But, she doesn’t want to admit that she’s quite emotional as she prefers to privately deal with her feelings. Behind her stoic features, Hilda was just a gentle girl, but switched off to a more tough person when faced with fierce battles. Although she is considered a bit friendly, Hilda would help anyone she doesn’t even know.
Hilbert (October 8th)
Hilbert is the twin brother of Hilda, and only became a Pokemon trainer when he got a Snivy as a package sent to him. Hilbert has a vast knowledge of medicine and originally aspires to be a Pokemon Doctor. While Hilda is a bit outgoing, Hilbert is the complete opposite; he’s an intelligent-loner kind of young man who has a knack in silently contemplating strategies.
Dawn (October 27th)
Dawn, the twin sister of Lucas. A young girl who traveled on the lands of Sinnoh Region, she and her mom is a Pokemon Coordinator, and aspires to be in common standing with her. But when battle arises, Dawn can be confident and eager, yet easy to get swayed whenever she loses. That’s why Ash and Brock often come in to help her cope. But nevertheless, Dawn always strives to do better at any opportunity.
November
Calem (November 6th)
Calem is a young teen in Vaniville Town. He is both a friend and rival to Serena. When met with Calem during in-game, the boy provides such useful and effective advice that belongs to his in-depth observational skills in fighting, resulting in not being affected by setbacks and turning it into opportunities to improve.
Blue (November 22nd)
As a Gym Leader in Generation 1 games, Blue doesn’t settle for mediocre challenges and instead taunt the other trainers to improve by defeating him, he’s a little snarky and mean towards his rivals; perhaps it has something to do with his unique ability of using various types of Pokemon instead of one, which speaks of his versatile character that comes off as a very competitive dude. However, in later games, Blue matured and grew up kinder like most of them.
December
Kate (December 1st)
Kate is the female main character in the video game, Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. She is a Pokemon ranger that resided in the Almia region. Having quite the same personality as Solana, Kate also aspires to be an outstanding Pokemon Ranger and puts herself at risk just to contribute help to anyone.
Paul (December 14th)
One of the main starters who received his first Pokemon was given by Professor Samuel Oak. Paul prefers to only focus on his main goal in becoming one of the strongest Pokemon Trainer; and that results in him appearing as arrogant and heartless. He doesn’t want to build friendships with anybody especially with Pokemons, as he sees these powerful animals merely as a tool.
He’s a pretty serious Pokemon trainer but it costs a lot. As he will release and refuse to choose weak Pokemons but taunt to duel with only strong Pokemon trainers. That’s also why he is Ash’s rival. But despite then, Paul is not extremely unkind as to wish harm on humans and Pokemons-alike, he was also seen helping Ash against Team Rocket.
Silver (December 24th)
Silver originated in the Pokemon Gold and Silver video game; on which he is a rival to the player. But he’s rather abusive and the darkest of them all. Silver had once voiced out his hatred towards weaklings and aimed to wipe out the weak for the strongest to lead; he got too far on his intentions that even Pokemons and trainers were manipulated by him.
Bill (December 31st)
From his first appearance in Generation I games, Bill is regarded as the talented Pokemon Researcher that is skilled in many expertise. He also invented the original Time Capsule and Pokemon Storage System. An inquisitive and mischievous nature of a genius. His inventions would remain valuable throughout the main series.
Conclusion
For about 40+ characters in this list, both the series and games had once controlled the masses in a storm as it continuously flooded the internet.
