Yokoso! (Welcome!) I’ve heard the voice inside your head summoning me. You need manhwa recommendations, am I right? Lucky you, I have a lot of recommendations in mind that I would like to share with you. Mind you, I’ve read all of these manhwas and some of them I have not yet finished, mainly because I’m the type who waits for all of the chapters to be released, rather than having to wait for them while questioning my existence.

Don’t worry I’ll tell you whether I’ve finished that manhwa or not and since I’ve read most of the chapters of the ones I haven’t finished, I’ll still give my thoughts on the story.

Without further ado! Here are my top 20 Best Manhwa recommendations.

Yepp, this is another one of those isekai romance manhwa. The story revolves around the female protagonist getting reincarnated in her own favorite novel series called “The Flower of the Beast” where it involves 3 handsome men and a heroine, which makes the novel a harem story. Kim Hyejung, an adult having to experience a different life of someone who’s name is Latte Ectrie, it isn’t something to be happy about in her point of view at first, because the character that she’s controlling now is a supporting character that would help the villain bully the heroine of the novel. Thus, she gathers all the knowledge she holds about the novel and tries to live in a way where she’ll be acting differently than the original character’s personality.

She would still enjoy her life as someone else after finally adapting to it and would always try to get involved with the main characters of the novel.  Not knowing that because of her involvement in the original novel, everything seems to follow a different path where the story of the novel starts to revolve around her.

[This one is one of my top 20th manhwa recommendations because of the comedy lines that really made me like the manhwa. Latte’s emotions and personality in the story were somehow quite relatable and funny. I haven’t finished the manhwa yet, since I waited for all of the chapters to end, but since I just got updated about it, it’s time for me and you to enjoy it. You’re also about to start reading soon, right??… All in all, I would rate this manhwa a 7/10 including its art style. The author did a great job making such a funny manhwa.]

 

19. What’s Wrong with You, Duke?

Literally as the title says, “what’s wrong with you duke?”, the duke who was widely known as a terrifying person was suddenly cursed by a magic spell in the middle of executing a woman who appears to be the heroine of the story. The curse made him fall in love with her uncontrollably and unexpectedly.

Our heroine is ‘Noël Montbelliard’, she was labeled as a rebel because of her family’s name but was able to survive the execution and was luckily married to the duke Dreux of Faucigny because of his cursed love for her, even though it’s a good thing, there’s also a downside to it. One, is that ‘when will the curse end?’ two, ‘How will the nation be able to accept this unexpected turn of events?’ and lastly ‘How will Noël be able to handle it?’, that’s why she needs to find out who made this curse and at the same time, survive when the curse is lifted off of the duke.

[This manhwa came into my top recommendations because the plot is funny, and at the same time it’s good. This is quite a unique story for me, you’ll enjoy reading this when you’re craving for this kind of plot. I would rate it 9/10 for its good art style, 7/10 for the plot.]

 

18. Daughter of the Emperor

Ariadna Agrigent is the protagonist of this story. She was originally a 25-year-old normal girl living in Korea, but after being murdered she gets to live another life as a girl in another world, and the thing is, she’s not just any normal girl anymore, but a daughter of a tyrant king. A tyrant king who has a history of erasing a lot of nations in the past, at the same time a king that has a lot of mistresses and a very tragic past, which made him as cold as he is now in the story.

Ariadna’s goal is to act all warm around him all the time so that she wouldn’t end up with a bad ending. Gradually, her attitude towards him worked which made his attitude change the more the story progresses. Ariadna grows and gets to know the other royalties as well, having her own drama and love story, and at the same time dealing with her tyrant cold father.

[If you’ve ever read a manhwa titled ‘Who made me a princess’ (because they have similar plot) or you like to read about father and daughter drama relationships, then this manhwa is good for you. It also might teach you how to be a good parent or something to your children(lol). All in all, this manhwa is good, I would personally rate it 7/10 including its art style. Having to see others fix their family relationship always makes my heart melt (TwT), I hope it melts your heart too.

P.S. I haven’t finished reading it since I stopped nearly 134 chapters because I had to wait for the other chapters to be released. It has been a long time since I haven’t gotten updated about it, but finally, we’re here to read the ending together. Also, she really has a long name (lol).]

 

17. Adelaide

Guess who got murdered this time and got transported to another world? *Drum roll* It’s Adelaide! She’s basically in her mid-twenties and just graduated from college, she got into a car accident and got reincarnated as a daughter of a Count of house Bourbon. Not going to lie, that’s too painful even for me. Just imagine graduating and then suddenly getting into an accident- Anyways, this story is about her not wanting to be married off to someone else, so she goes to the capital, and has this duke named ‘Elias’ fall for her like how Cinderella lived happily ever after, just kidding.

Since this is a romantic story in a fantasy world, Adelaide has a rival in the plot, which of course, they have what they call a ‘Saint’. A saint is someone they think that is sent from the heavens appearing suddenly in their world. Ironically, the Saint herself doesn’t even have a saintly personality since she’s just from another world where she is a famous person who gets what she wants. She uses a seducing tactic to make the duke fall head over heels for her, but since the duke doesn’t like that, that’s where Adelaide comes in to help him, and at the same time it helps her too.  

[I mean, it’s a win-win situation with both the duke Elias and Adelaide, like how it’s a win-win for the reader who likes these kinds of stories and the author who writes these stories. 7/10 it’s a nice love story, and I like Adelaide’s red hair for it.

P.S. This is one of those manhwas I finished in just one day.]

 

16. The Abandoned Empress

As the title says, ‘The Abandoned Empress’. Aristia was the expected queen for the Castina Empire, who was abandoned by his king because he’s a simp- I meant because of another girl appearing out of nowhere who they call as ‘someone who’s fallen from the heavens’ (you already know what that means) and that made the king turn away from the queen and thus her life leaning towards a bad ending.

Since Aristia’s the protagonist of our story, of course she won’t just get executed, instead she’ll get revived again as the same person but younger, knowing everything that has happened and what will happen again for her. Since she doesn’t want that ever happening again, she takes on a different path to save her own life, while meeting the other handsome men who will like her and help her in her path of the story.

[I like the story, I just hate the king himself (forgive me, but trust me you’ll hate him too lol), don’t worry there will be character developments in the end. I would rate this 7/10 because of our heroine’s bravery, strengths and efforts shown.]

 

15. What it takes to be a Villainess

As how the title says, this manhwa teaches you how to be a Villainess one day, but that’s only if you ever get reincarnated by getting drowned too, because that’s what happened to the heroine of the story, and her name is Hwayoung, but now has been reincarnated as Satiana. Living up to her family’s name, she was chosen as a candidate to marry the king.

Why a candidate? Because it’s a competition of houses, on who will sit on the throne and have power over the country. So of course, it’s a battle between Satiana and the rich people around her which leads to her acting as a Villainess to anyone (except for the ones she trusts). Of course, she ends up winning the king’s feelings in the end due to her personality and knowledge that helped her family, and the country as well.

[I would rate this 7/10 due to its good art style and plot. Also, I finished it in just one day.]

 

14. Doctor Elise: Royal Lady with the Lamp

If you’re someone who likes stories involving doctors and at the same time also likes Isekai genres, then this one’s for you.

Our protagonist here is named ‘Elise’ who got reincarnated twice this time. She was an empress consort in the very first beginning of her life but due to the crimes she did, she led her life to a bad ending, she tried making up for it by becoming someone that saves lives after being reincarnated into the modern world. Unluckily, she’s going to die again because of the airplane crashing, and has gotten reincarnated again as who she was originally was, which is existing as ‘Elise’. Knowing her past and every suffering that she and her family experienced, she wouldn’t want that to happen again, thus she decided to become a doctor back in that world, to atone for her sins.

[It’s odd enough that the setting of this manhwa is quite medieval yet the tools and objects that they use in the story is somehow quite modern/advanced, which is why it makes me feel a bit odd, but it’s just me, and there’s nothing bad about the plot and the characters, I would rate it 7/10. If you have any knowledge about medical stuff, try to read it for yourself and see if it’s medically accurate. It also has a good art style.]

 

13. The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion

Park Eunha (a.k.a Raeliana Mcmillan) got transported into the novel after being pushed off from a building by someone mysterious. She ended up living and adapting to its world as a minor character in the novel. Sadly, her character is also destined to die early in the novel, which is why she’ll do what it takes for her not to die again, by having a deal with the duke. Little did she know, that having herself involved too much with the main characters would lead to an unexpected twist and the plot going off the track. Which makes it even more complicated than what Realiana knows from the novel. In the end since this manhwa is tagged as romance, it’s expected she’ll end up falling for the duke as the story progresses.

[That’s the reason why this story became even more interesting, due to its mysterious and thrilling plot, but I don’t know, some readers might say I’m wrong and some will probably say that it’s too cliché for them, but anyway, why don’t you try giving it a read. I’ve rated this one 8/10 since personally I liked it myself. Art style is good, the plot is good, handsome and pretty characters are good.]

 

12. Vampire Chef

A vampire chef that’s actually a kind gentleman and cooks the best food in town with a plain looking human girl whose blood tastes good as his partner, is the best combination for a rom-com story.

[I would highly rate this 10/10 for its comedy and 8/10 unique plot of romance. The only thing that lacks about this is the chapters. Why make it such a short manhwa author?! Whyyyyy?!]

 

11. DICE

The story takes place in a school, where status is everything and hierarchy of fame exists. Dong Tae, our protagonist of this story, will change everything and will be the one turning tables to those people who mistreat him and bullies him, by the power of the dice. Unfortunately, the dice game gets leaked, and everyone would start using it for their own advantages, but everything has its purpose, and everything has its limits, Dong Tae realizes that and tries to save his friends and himself throughout the game. The game was created by the founder of the dice, at the end Dong Tae needs to face him and defeat him to save the world.

[This manhwa is that kind of manhwa where the protagonist takes a whole character development in the story because he was a simp- I meant Friendship! It’s for friendship! I would recommend you reading this, I rate the art style 9/10, and would rate 8/10 for the good plot.]

 

10. Light and Shadow

Edna is the heroine of the story that will change the duke’s life forever. By showing up to marry him and staying in that commitment by doing everything she can as a duchess, while hiding that biggest secret in her life. Love always wins in the end for the both of them.

[Not going to lie, this is one of those good romance manhwas where it’s not just about the fling, it’s deeper than that; commitment, trust, and growing together. I would highly recommend it to those who like romance, 8/10 for the plot twist, and 9/10 for the art style. This isn’t just called ‘Light and shadow’ for nothing I tell you.]

 

9. I Choose the Emperor Ending

This story takes place in a novel created by the protagonist herself. Even better, she gets stuck in it, and becomes a slave. Luckily, the protagonist of the novel, who is her own created character named ‘Edward Dias’, saves her accidentally as planned inside the novel.

For her to survive in the world she created, she disguises as her opposite gender and would help Edward not to fall into his tragic fate since she’s the only one who knows how the story progresses. Getting involved with him all the time would make her slowly fall in love with him.

[The plot is good, even though you might think it sounds pretty cliché, the art style and comedy scenes would make up for it. I would rate this 8/10.]

 

8. Jack the American Ghost

Go-Eun Ma is the protagonist of our story. She owns a ghost house in an amusement park. Sadly, it needs to be demolished, but since she holds that ghost house dear to her heart, she prevents that by winning at a contest. The contest is about how long you can last inside the haunted mansion, the winners will receive a million dollars.

Every participant in the story will be tested psychologically, while our protagonist will discover something even more different about it. A romantic scene unfolds within the story, and an unexpected twist awaits.

[This is one of my favorite horror manhwas I’ve read back then, it’s been so long since I’ve read this one. I will warn you that this manhwa contains violence, gore, and horror. Even so, the plot twists are good, the characters are so well made, and the ending is expectedly tragic, still it’s 8/10 good.]

 

7. Siren’s Lament

The story focuses on a love-triangle relationship, but the thing is a siren (a.k.a mermaid) gets involved in the romance. Lyra gets involved with a curse of a Siren, but it turns out everything is not working right, since making contracts with a siren will make you one too and that siren will turn back into human like how they originally were (just without memories), but strangely that didn’t happen to Lyra even though she made a contract.

[It gets even more complicated for her since she doesn’t remember anything about it. 9/10 the art style is so good, the romance is a bit cliché, I just really like this type of plot, so I would rate the plot 8/10.]

 

6. Survive as the Hero’s Wife

As the title says ‘this villainess wants a divorce’ literally, because she’ll get executed in the novel. A new life plays the role of Carnelia the villainess.

The current empress is also one of the villainesses who doesn’t like the 1st prince (the protagonist of the novel) thus, using Carnelia by being betrothed to the 1st prince, for the 1st prince not to succeed on the throne. Since the new girl playing as Carnelia doesn’t want the same fate to happen to her, she thinks of a plan to just divorce the prince and live her own life away from the kingdom. But everything gets complicated, a lot of stories between the past will unravel, so Carnelia faces it instead, and ends up gaining the trust of the 1st prince back, which leads to a good relationship with him and a happy ending.

[The story is good, I like the character development on the villainess in this story, and the romance is also good, 9/10 for the art style and 8/10 for the good plot.]

 

5. Her Summon

Being transferred to another world is probably something he’d really wanted to experience in his life, that’s why after finding out he has been summoned to that world, he tries to overcome his fears and challenges himself. He was able to do the things he wasn’t able to do in the real world.

[Not going to lie, I’d rate the art style 10/10 because of how good it is, Plot is 9/10. I like the petite girl (a.k.a his summoner) and her relationship with the protagonist as the story progresses.]

 

4. Sweet Home

This story is dark in every aspect. Hyun cha, a high school student who hates everyone and is like a shut-in, he finds out his family dies due to a car accident. After moving out, he struggles psychologically, and mentally, due to being alone. He decides to plan his attempt of suicide, without even caring about anything surrounding him. Unexpectedly, his planned attempt day comes at the same time monsters would start appearing and attacking humans.

That event will change his life around, because he decides to fight once more for his life, and experience new challenges that will develop his behavior towards the reality he’s facing. Adding all the stories of other people fighting for their lives too.

[The story is so good, I would highly recommend it because of the plot twists, side character stories, and the thrill of every chapter. If you’re someone who likes to read dark stuff and horror stuff at the same time, then this is one for you. I would personally rate it 9/10 with the plot and 10/10 with the art style.]

 

3. Bastard

Breaking news! A lot of women went missing in a specific neighborhood, but nobody knows how, or why they are missing. Jin Seon here (a.k.a. The protagonist) knows exactly what happened to them, mainly because he is a part of it. Ironically, he doesn’t want to do these kinds of things, but his father makes him do it, because the father finishes the job. While everything plays out Jin goes hating his father and blames him for the trauma that he put into him.

Jin meets this girl ‘Kyun Yoon’ who saves his life after getting beat up in school. Since he knows how dangerous his dad is, Jin prevents Kyun from being one of those targets. The whole story will end up going through a lot of thrilling events with Jin’s father, him, and Kyun. The whole question is ‘What is the whole truth behind this twisted relationship between father and son?’

[I’ve read this manhwa first by Carnby Kim, I’ve liked his manhwa after reading it, so I’ve started looking through his other works which is ‘home sweet home’ and ‘pigpen’, and this is one of the best mysterious, thrilling, dark manhwa I’ve read so far. The plot twists are so good, and the characters are just so dark, especially the protagonist. The ending wasn’t quite what I expected but the art style and plot is very good. I would rate this 10/10 personally in everything.

P.S. Warning! It contains traumatizing events and gore stuff.]

 

2. Noblesse

This story is long, that’s why it has a lot of characters involved. But the protagonist here is named ‘Rai’ (Raizel) he is a Noblesse, a.k.a. ‘The most powerful kind of vampire to ever exist’, but being a noble is also a curse.

Since Rai is a vampire, he has lived over two thousand years, beyond those years a serious event occurred which made him go into hibernation for a long time. After waking up in a long slumber, he must adapt in a new modern era, and live with his most devoted servant ‘Frankenstein’. But since this isn’t just any normal world, a lot of things exist and not just humans, so Rai has a lot of things to deal with especially with those people around him and those people involved in his past.

[This is one of the favorite manhwas I’ve read so far because of the plot, characters and action involved in this manhwa. I highly recommend it; the protagonist’s personality is just really a mood. The story has funny scenes, and the characters are well made. There are also a lot of character developments in the story, which makes this story so interesting and exciting to read. 10/10 to the art style and everything.]

 

1. Unholy Blood

Vampires exist in this era, and they disguise themselves as humans. They lurk all over the corners of the cities, kill humans, and their existence is a serious problem in the nation.

Hayan is an orphan college student, she somehow stumbles upon a vampire on her way home at midnight after drinking with her college batchmates. The vampire wanted to make her a vampire, and tried to bite her, but instead the vampire got killed by her, because she’s also a vampire; a stronger one at that.

She’s been hiding her identity all along since birth, because the priest who’s been raising her in the orphanage tried to protect her as a kid. The problem here is, she doesn’t know her past because it was so tragically traumatizing that it resulted in her forgetting it. But now, growing up and all these events have been happening around the city, she realizes the danger that will occur on the people around her, especially the people at the orphanage.

She tries to find out the cause of the vampire chaos, and fights to protect her family. Throughout the journey she will then figure out who she really was and her past around it.

[The art style is basically just chef’s kiss, 10/10 amazing. Plot is good, the characters are so cool and well made. I highly recommend it because who wouldn’t enjoy a queen slaying and trying to save the world?]

But knowing Kayden, whose name is widely known even amongst the strongest ability users, it will be quite a challenge for Jiwoo to deal with those people that are trying to defeat them, while also protecting those people around him.

[If you like cats and plots that are surrounded by strong friendships, then this is for you. 10/10 arts style, 10/10 plot, 10/10 characters and character developments, 10/10 adorable cats, and 10/10 comedic relief.]

Have you ever tried reading more than 3000 chapters of a web Novel? Because In Dokja’s world no one has ever done it except for him. In 10 years, he was able to finish 3149 chapters of this novel titled ‘Three ways to survive an apocalypse’, then after finishing the last chapter, a fateful event will now happen that will change the world. Dokja realizes this after having to familiarize every scene that’s been happening to him, that the novel he just finished reading, is happening in his point of view.

I think by this point you’ve assumed now that I like to read romance-isekai manhwas, well not quite, but very much fond of historical manhwa, mystery manhwa, gore, psychological manhwa, and comedy manhwas with a little bit of romance (especially when the MC becomes handsome or is already handsome hehe).
