Tanjirou Kamado has carried the weight of maintaining his family onto his back after his father died. Despite living in poverty on a lonely mountain, Tanjiro and the rest of the family Kamado has a generally quiet and good lifestyle. Tanjirou decided to go towards a nearby town one day to raise some money for his charcoal goods.On his journey back, Tanjirou is forced to spend the night in the house of a random stranger, who informs him of the presence of demons who feed on human flesh in the forest at night.

Once he returns home the following morning, he finds his entire family slain. Worse, the only one who survived is Nezuko, his sister who has been transformed into a ferocious monster, a demon to be specific. Tanjirou, overwhelmed by anger and grief, vows to punish those who did this thing to his family and stand by his sister Nezuko, his only sibling who survived and is now facing a terrible condition. 

Tanjirou promised that he will do everything in his ability along with the strange group of Demon Slayers, to destroy the demons and defend the last bits of Nezuko’s humanity.
